I was told that they have enough lights that will stretch all the way from the park to Richmond and back a bit. Also, interesting fact, the park has bought every last hand painted glass C9 bulb in the country. Team members were told if the lights broke and they ran out of spares, they need to start painting clear ones because there are no more. Of course you can still buy transparent colored C9s, LED C9s but it is just the hand painted glass C9s you can't purchase.

This is obscene. Why would a theme park be going to every store in the country buying lights when they could have ordered them from wholesale companies. Never have I ever heard of a theme park buying regular store shelf lights. What has happened?

Scott REALLY wants to be authentic with these lights. Do not underestimate the power of detailed theme decor. As for the purchasing online and wholesale ideas, I think I'll try to go with this. With wholesale lights, you don't get the real hand painted despite what may be advertised, therefore it won't satisfy Scott. Then purchasing online, perhaps the stores have a limited amount they have still kept for online purchases. I will be doing more research on this topic. Remember 1 million C9s are bing use in Festa alone. In fact each Christmas tree has its own circuit rather than sharing a circuit with surrounding trees, for safe power reasons.

Am I the only one who is wondering if PR is really this "Scott" guy? Hehe (JK). PR seems to have a tremendous amount of info to share. Keep it coming. Does he work at the park?

Do you guys really have that much time on your hands to go to every store in an area to verify these things? Wow!

I can see it on the news now, "Busch Gardens New Area for Christmas Town "Holiday Hills" was burnt to a crisp Friday night as trees cought fire with the old fashioned c9 bulbs. Over a million of these hot incadesnt bulbs are featured in this area alone. Parks spokes women repeatedly told us that the park will be in normal operation excluding Holiday Hills Saturday as workers paint new bulbs for the area."

Clark Griswold pulled it off with multiple extensions. Park will be fine.

I recommend those saying this look into heat and mass transfer engineering courses as well as higher level chem classes. I love laughing at the uneducated.

Onto the C9 bulbs. With the low demand of certain style of handpainted C9 bulbs it IS highly plausible the park bought the readily available stock when PR first posted stating that they did. There are variations of C9 bulbs; some widely available whilst some are not. Before instantly ripping and showing your @$$ you might want to look into exactly what is being referenced.

I hate to jump in during this conversation about light bulbs, but I'd like to know what eneryone thinks about the capacity issues from last year versus this year.

Last year we attempted to go on Black Friday and we ended up with our tails between our legs heading back down 60 after sitiing still on the ramp into the park for about 45 minutes. I believe that the $5 ticket deal has something to do with this, however last year the whole park was not open. It was Howl O Sceam-fully painful.

This year with all areas open, BUT, not all rides open, how do we think the capacity issues will be this year? Die down/stay the same/not noticable? I don't mind it busy, but I do mind telling my kids we're going and then having to turn around (I feel like a GP complaining and I apologize, but hey, passmembers have to shell out something for this. It's allowed now. I say so.).

I prefer Fridays myself, but because of silly Friday shopping crowds and opening day complications, I am holding off until Sunday.

I'm torn on what to expect Black Friday. There is no Friday $5 general public offer this year. I strongly feel that that played a huge variable on the crowds last year with that particular day. The pass offer could yield less, the same, or more with twelve tickets able to purchase at once. Passmembers could plan for family in town that day. Either way I am not chancing it after last years BF crowds.

It's worth noting that the weather forecast for Friday is, more or less, perfect. Partly cloudy with a high of 60 degrees. Sounds like a perfect storm for chaos on Friday. Regardless, I'll be there because, well, people want content.
