Anyone ready for a quick Holiday Hills report?
Well here we go, it turns out the park has removed the Festa Italia sign and carriage from next to the bridge and has been building a giant billboard saying Holiday Hills, Population 365 with all these other little details. The bridge will have road markings on it, the yellow and white lines as if you were driving into this retro area.
You can expect plenty of vintage retro Coke advertisements on billboards. These billboards will be covering up Apollo's Chariot, Splashus Maximum, etc. The 3 Point basketball game will be converted into a mini light show/countdown to Christmas display. Ring toss with the old fashioned Coke glass bottles will be there.
Much like during Howl-o-Scream La Cucina will get a heavy make over including Team Member outfits. Team Members will be dressed with diner hats, aprons, white shirts, and red bow ties, with a real diner experience. They did a lot of research for this. A 15 foot gaudy giant metallic multi color Santa will be in front of the tea cups and a Snowman in front of the Trade Winds.
The Elephants on Elephant Run have been removed and replaced with reindeer cars.
The Gingerbread men from Entwined are back and available for photo opportunities at the Roman Rapids gift shop. The Apollo's Chariot gift shop is amazing, it will be filled with record players, Easy Bake ovens, etc. You will be able to buy vintage retro items from here.
If you can, try to invision a complete re-theme from Festa Italia to Route 66. Everything will be using incandescent multi-colored C9 light bulbs. In fact, Scott claims that the park has bought all the C9 light bulbs in the entire country. You will not be able to buy C9's from your home because BG took them all already. I am not sure how true that much is, but they will have tons.
I am very excited to see this area complete or near completion. It just sounds amazing to me and it really sounds quite interesting. Scott said that the main idea for Holiday Hills was he wanted to have America added to the park as far as a village goes because we have all these amazing European christmas, but we are missing ours.
