Anyone else notice on the BGW website calendar that Christmas Town will be open the weekend before Thanksgiving and EVERDAY from the Friday after Thanksgiving through New Years Eve including Christmas Day?

Alot more days of Christmas Town in 2012.

Unless I'm being completely delusional here, I believe something similar happened with the calendar last year and it turned out that they just hadn't finalized this year's calendar yet. I would take the current state of the calendar with a huge grain of salt.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

Plus, ther is always the disclaimer "Schedule is subject to change without notice"

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

The problem last year, I was stupid and zoom to December and was like "Oh, all the days it say it's open, Christmas town will be open everyday in december." then I looked and the whole year was marked open.. Opps. This looks much more detailed and official.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

Even thought the 2012 calendar has been planned, they don't update their online calendars to be accurate until closer to opening day, and even then their calendars may be off. I would wait awhile.

Anyways, as far as rumors go, can we expect to see things come or go? Anyone have anything?

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I wish they would open Festa. They could open Tradewinds, Turkish Delight and the train station. That could give room for more lights and shopping and dining. Maybe open Land of the dragons? Maybe Verbolten, since it will be half inside?

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I can see Verbolten being open, after all it is their newest roller coaster and hopefully can withstand colder temps. Plus, why wouldn't you try to have your newest attraction open?

As far as Festa goes, I think they could open most things in that area, with the exception of Apollo's Chariot. Although, I just don't see it happening soon. I think Sesame Street will open before Festa does.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I'm thinking that with consistantly being at capacity, opening Festa would be something they would consider for next year.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

Well actually thinking back, maybe Sesame Street may not pen before Festa. Just due to the Flight of Lights line being so long. It would be terrible trying to have people cross through the line without cutting, unless they wrap the line around going across the train track to the front of the station and around to England. I am sure that is something they will need to think of.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

^They can always move the station that you board on. There would be plenty of room at the Germany station.

^^ This

The view isn't that great, certainly not worth the wait.

Only problem with this is when the park closes and that line is 90 minutes long, the park has to wait that much longer to clear the park since everyone would be having to walk from Germany over to the park entrance after riding. That means all the things that happen after the park closes is pushed back 2 hours.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

Well with how long the line can get, I am sure it is very popular among the GP and the park will continue with it. Although, you have to think, if the line gets super long and they have to allow everyone through that gets in the line at 10pm, what if it was an hour wait by then? Let guests walk throughout the park at 11pm?

But yeah, there would be more room at other stations, even at the France location, depending how you form the line.

EDIT: Move it to Germany and rename it, Santa's Flight of Lights! After all, Germany is supposed to play North Pole during CT.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I don't really see where there'd be more room in Germany vs. the current setup. In fact, wouldn't you risk bumping it right up against the Santa line?

As to the line and it's popularity...well people do it who have never done it because they expect it to be awesome. Not sure how many people wait in 90 minute lines more that once for it. I mean, the view kind of stinks. The skyride doesn't go over the countries where all the lights are. It goes over the dark coasters. All of the lights you're seeing are at a distance and obstructed. If they just opened it like normal people could still get a taste of the lights from the air, but also have an option to use it to get around the park and avoid some of the choked off pathways.

RE: Christmas Town 2012 Rumors

I think that they should just open up all of the stops... That would lighten up the load on England... It would go from ~90 min to ~30 min each stop... Plus, the best stretch Is from England to France (it has the most lights)

I am sure they could work a few things out. Personally, it drives me crazy how Flight of Lights is so much more popular than Polar Pathway or Gloria! being those two are the newest things, they would be the more busier of the things.
