The Sesame Street show isn't half bad. Just sayin'

As PzP said, Gloria is much better as well.

Lastly, something crazy is going on in Deck the Halls. More on that later.

Deck the Halls has this new spinning fireplace centerpiece. Works pretty well actually. All the shows are good quality, kind of makes me wish I enjoyed this Christmas stuff.

We're looking at a repeat of Howl-O-Scream 2012 as far as shows go. I have no complaints. Deck the Halls and Miracles are both SUPERB. Gloria is still the low point in my opinion, but that in no way means it's a bad show.

Very impressed with CT today!
The entire park looked fantastic and Festa looks absolutely amazing. Very crowded though...
But the crown jewel of it all had to be Polar Pathway. I had never seen it before and oh my gosh it truly was astonishing. Great stuff and I will definitely be back.

We just left. Didn't have time to see any shows, had the neice, nephew, grandparents, in-laws, etc in tow so only got to see Santa, a ride on the Train, and Le Catapult. Hope to make it on a much less busy night soon. Park looked great otherwise.

Festa is my new favorite area of the park. It is simply stunning. Clark Griswald would be proud.

This event is amazing but the crowds definitely take away a lot from it. It was a lot more enjoyable back in 2009 and 2010 when the crowds were smaller.

The amazing rotating fireplace from Deck the Halls:

Sadly, the recording was ruined by massive herds of people walking in front of the shot constantly, so I'll have to go back and re-film it sometime (hopefully soon).

Party Rocker, here is the Ice Palace GLOW stand:

You forgot the glow stand in Oktoberfest, which is setup as a both like all the other vendors for the Mistletoe Market Place :p But yes, I remember smelling the fresh paint one night, and realizing the stand was not going anywhere to far from its original position.

Festa is better than I though, they did do well on finishing. I saw a few trees not working, which by the way, people have been trying to sabotage Christmas Town this year. Duh duh duhn.

The major issues I see this year is capacity, I know they added a whole area, but I feel like they are operating at regular park capacity when they still have two areas closed (FoF and LoD). I think they need to lower capacity some more, but no shocker the overflow lots were used.

Park opening times got me confused. I think they opened so much earlier than they ever have before. I've heard they opened at 1pm vs opening up an hour before advertised time.

The crowds kept me from enjoying Oktoberfest this evening. I'll try to locate it next time.

I have mixed feelings about Festa/Holiday Hills. Going to wait until I see it again before rendering judgement.

I figured the crowds would be awful on Black Friday, but took a chance and went anyway. It wasn't bad until it got dark though. I guess Sundays will be the day to go again for me.

I got to the park around 2:15 and discovered that people were already going in. The park map says England opens at 1 p.m. Who dropped the ball there? 3 p.m.? Riiiiiiiiiight.

BTW, the Sky Ride in France appeared to be the stop with the shortest lines (5 minutes) and I also saw a sign advertising "The Flight of Lights" debacle from last year.

The trains were incredibly full and only running two (that I saw). The green train looked ready to go and was lit up but I never saw it on the rounds. Get on and stay on & don't forget about the secret row at the front of each car.

I think lowering capacity would be great but money rules everything so never expect that.

CT also this year and somewhat last year has begun to lose that special event appeal it had in the beginning as well. Personally now to me it just feels like the regular operating season minus some rides. Not that the feeling takes away from the event, just a personal thing.

Also I miss all the vendors that were in Oktoberfest. There used to be so many but now its down to I think 6 or so.

As for the shows- this is the best group of them yet for CT.

For all the people doubting they would have everything ready for opening day they got it done so congrats to all the technicians for all their hard work getting this done in 2 months.

They definitely had more than 6 vendors (they were located on both sides of the path), but the selection wasn't as "crafty". Seems like more jewelry this year.

I, too, was confused by the early opening. It wasn't until I saw the BGWfans FB page post that people were already heading in at 2pm that we zipped over there. Right on and off Verbolten a few times with no lines. A few hours later, it was an hour wait.

At what point were they sending cars to overflow?

Speaking of things not working is it me or was the giant Santa Claus in Polar Pathways not lit up like last year?

Also, from the back of the Christmas Town map:

"Mach Tower will operate in a scenic mode, offering panoramic views of Christmas Town. Riders should be aware that circumstances may require that the ride be released in normal mode."

Wouldn't that be something? Relaxing and gentle descension turned instantly into a free fall! What would warrant this change? Fire, low-flying planes, a flock of south-bound birds, Santa Claus & low-flying reindeer, aliens or just the random change to give guests a real thrill???? Just curious ;) .

OMG I just laughed so hard. SO hard. Can you imagine? Maybe the circumstances is that it's actually operating well? Like the Ride Ops are like 'Oh snap! A whole day without downtime? LET'S DO THIS!' and scream 'Leroy Jenkins' as they let the poor, poor unsuspecting group free fall to the ground.

I've only been on Mach Tower twice for the sake of saying I rode it and will never ride it again, but would be interested in doing it in 'Observation Mode.' Oh. My. Goodness. If this happened to me...And can you imagine the Facebook posts? LMAO, I'm seriously cracking up still.

!!IMPORTANT QUESTION!!: How is the buffet in Festa? I need the breakdown. What's on it? Is it tasty? Should I bring my own bottle of ranch? Pics? Something. Anything.

And...How were the changes in Verbolten? Did they actually do anything?

Jessica
