With the absence of major shows in the park, guests are directed towards OktoberFest where there appears to be one or two left at Das Festhaus. This is OktoberFest SHOULD be playing in the late afternoon & evening (always a pleasure). Then there is this other thing...Entwined...it looks like it is limping along with a skeleton crew; someone's lifelong dream and crowning achievement! But face it folks; Entwined SUCKS!! Yet SOMEBODY must really want the crowds to find it and watch it. The only real show left at the moment is TIO. Enjoy it while you can.

Extra! Extra!! NEW HEADLINE (I'd like to see)...

Elmo, Grover, and perennial crowd favorite Cookie Monster, walk out of the Forest of Fun citing unfair treatment from management, wanting actual REAL trees in FOF, and a desire to play LIVE music. The Count is now uncertain as a return for HOS..."Let's see how many shows YOU can COUNT that are still alive in the park. Ah ah ah!!" Kiddies everywhere began to cry.

Well since you opened that can...

This is a great example of how the park now excludes and ignores me as a customer. We don't have children that age and wouldn't go there if we did. Land of Dragons is a shiny example of how to include everyone. We went there many a time with our children. We STILL visit and relax there often.

We've been to the "Forest" of no trees once. Never plan to go back.

(Anyone else feel creeper'd out in the parking lot by that giant evil Elmo staring at you over the trees? BGW can't offend Kingsmill by rides violating their sky, but WE can be offended and violated by having to see this monstrosity first thing out of the car? Nice. )

No offense to those with kids. But, there is a park in the chain just for for those that would like to go see that sort of thing.

(Way to make me hijack a thread, CK! :p )

I'm being completely serious- I honestly don't know anything about management for the park- Is this really one man's fault? Everyone is dreaming up ways to hurt Scott, or at least fire him... But to me, this seems like a culmination of many people's actions (or inaction) that made the working atmosphere intolerable. I could be totally wrong. Maybe he is a tyrant. I've never met the guy. Please correct me, if you know what went down. But are we 100% sure that these setbacks and gross mismanagement are direct actions from Scott? Was the first employee fired by Scott himself?

You are asking a good question. Personally, I've only talked to him a handful of times and I get the vibe I was pretty much invisible to him... just another face that didn't matter. Who knows.. he could have had other things on his mind, or he could just be that distant.

I think most of us here do not know him personally, but are speaking from what we know of how people think of him that work within the park. To utter his name will get a similar response of saying "Voldemort" by most park team members. Thus the reference of "he-who-must-not-be-named."

I do not like saying "I know" because I don't. What I will say is that he obviously is strongly disliked by about everyone. You certainly do not get that reputation for being nice.

I am sure there are those under his lead that are following his orders. I would think given his reputation, that most of those people doing the dirty work would be more likely to do so out of fear of losing their job than actually being mean people.

If MIU being canceled affects DIU, I wouldn't mind them bringing back the silent movies. They are very fun to watch, are on all day so you don't have to rush to it to make it to a show, and you can sit and relax while watching a silent movie. We sat for hours watching these movies because they are cool. I wouldn't mind them coming back. :)

I heard whispers that this may be coming last night and asked ChickenKing to run to the park to confirm it this morning. He has. The Italian Ensemble is not performing today. Been told that one of its members walked last night. Il Teatro di San Marco is currently sitting empty. More as we get it.

For those keeping track at home, this means Mix it Up, the Killarney Village Band, and the Italian Ensemble have all bitten the dust in the last 48 hours.

I called today to vent my frustration(Drive about an hour = about $15, then rent a ecv for $45 just to wait for TIO to come on.. if it does since the park closes at 7pm on friday of labor day weekend?!?) and ask for someone who has answers.. yeah I was told to use the contact link on the BGW site.. ugh

Oh, good heavens, best of luck with getting any CORRECT information by calling the park or asking anyone at the Customer Service desks. I've complained about that to the park and on this forum for years, including when the park was in much better shape a couple of seasons ago. Someone you speak to may give you information, but it is not likely to be correct, especially about anything to do with special events or show times and the like.

Last year Wild Days and even the start dates of HOS were reported incorrectly (we had a thread about it here), with information varying according to whom you spoke with or which webpage or flyer you looked at. It's BEYOND RIDICULOUS a major park can't get simple information out CORRECTLY and CONSISTENTLY on vital and basic things like operating hours and dates/times of special events.

So honestly I wouldn't trust anything you might be told on the phone about a show time anyway -- not that that makes it any less frustrating for you. You have my complete sympathy and understanding for sure.

One of the musicians in Mix was fired on Wednesday leaving the cast in yet another reblock. The strain was too much for some of the players. They had to think about their future as a musician. By no means does a performer want to ruin there playing ability at BG. So they did the right thing and decided to walk away BUT all of the cast wanted to do one last show. For the guest and for themselves. The office told them No. Even after they pleaded and asked multiple people for one last show. The answer was still No. So the office told them that the show was cancelled for that day and the rest of the season, and blamed the people that were doing the right thing. Even though they were just thinking about their future. I hope this clears up some questions.

Hold up guys!! I misunderstood. There is an act in the San Marco Theater. Entertainment went all out with a Lowe's HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF demonstration. This a team of three, all in black, and a ladder. Watch as they cover the stage background with a maroon curtain. Now you too can do this in your home!

Thanks for all the good reporting and legwork, CK and Zachary.

Add Nora to that list too- she does so much that she never gets credit for.

Also, a ton of thanks should go out to the anonymous sources that tip me off to this stuff too. If I hadn't had a little birdy tell me something very important would be going on in San Marco at 1pm yesterday, none of this would have been possible.

Was Hitler the only one to be blamed? Of course there are others involved that would rather rule in hell than serve in heaven. Even a few performers themselves our ratting out their fellow performers so they can climb the ladder and be in Scott's good graces. SG has fired a few personally but most of the time he sends his minions to do it. A lot of times it's someone different that is all of sudden labeled your "manager" on your exit evaluation. I can't explain how SG has everyone in fear but he does. I can't wrap my brain around why the rest of them didn't join hands and tell Scott "NO". Who knows how and why people turn over power to tyrants and why they can't simply take the power back. Nothing has any value until we give it.

Let's get one thing straight. After all the initial anger subsides and we come to our senses we must realize Scott is a human being like all of us. He is still our "brother" but he must be stopped from doing harm to others. If we do not stand against tyranny in it's smallest form what makes us think we have the guts to stand up in bigger moments.
