Aww.. farewell, sweet Molly. The dogs may just be my favorite part of BG. I did a Google search and found this post from 2010 when Molly was a puppy. I guess that made her about 11.5 years old. (Google says the average lifespan for a Border Collie is 12 years.)

We just spoke with the keeper, who said the pair of border collies (one male, one female) arrived on Tuesday. They were playing in the stables, when we arrived.

The trainers told us that they are going to let the public name the puppies. Our tour guide thought they would likely post the poll starting this weekend.
What about David Plowie. Or Plowie McPlowface. Or Itsy Bitsy Tiny Weenie Snow Plow Machinie?
My first reaction as well but I did dig into it a little more and apparently it's also one of the most common Scottish girl names. Maybe the offers a better explanation fir why it's one the list.
I agree. But it still seems like an odd choice, when there are plenty of options that are not primarily Nordic goddesses associated with cats.

I more associate Freya with its Scottish roots rather than Nordic
