Regrading would require work on nearly the entire line. Doubtful that would happen.
I don't think they will need to regrade the whole line, which would be doubtful and is not needed.

The area that I'm talking about is the new station location that would need to be regraded so it's flat enough so the train has no way to roll on its own when the train breaks are released. All this work is done with a few pieces of railroad work equipment (tamper, undercutter, backhoe and a ballast car), but mostly done with a tamper and ballast car like we did at my trolley car museum (BSM) to make small changes in the grade. You be surprised how much play is in the tracks when you don't have any stone under the ties.

BTW, Sorry for getting over technical with my post. I am just a technical kind of guy that loves coasters, trolley cars and railroad related things:D

But where you remove the angle it must be distributed elsewhere. You know that :p. If you take 200 feet of the gradual angle and make it flat, then you have to distribute that angle elsewhere otherwise the inclination post stop is too intense.

Easy fix, flatten the entire park. Simple.

Why not just redistribute the upward angle over a longer piece of track... You know, stretch it out?

Which is what my post said. To flatten there would not give enough distance for adequate height by the time it would hit New France.

^They already grease the tracks to keep the noise down... stupid Kingsmill!

Wait... How can you even hear the train from KM? You can barely hear the regular trains right across the street from the neighborhood and those are a helluva lot louder/run much faster than the trains inside the park.

You can hear the whistle when it's on full power, but you can't hear the trains running on the track.

(I swear, this neighborhood really bugs me sometimes)

Last night when I was at the park, I thought I saw some paint marking out some thing near the landscape green house crossing... Looked like it was the length of the train

I looked today and didn't notice anything. Which side of the train was it on? Mind pointing the location out on Google Maps?

It was dark, so my eyes may have been fooling me... It was a long rectangular dashed box about the width and length of the train around the tracks... I was sitting in the back an saw it behind us, so it probably cannot be viewed from the side of the train... It was right before the landscape crossing, beside the retaining wall near drachenfire's buildings

The area FAL NR OX is talking about is a road that runs along the tracks which is north of the greenhouse at these coordinates 37.229807,-76.64534 on Google maps.

My contact at the park had some sort of morning meeting with Mark Pauls recently and Mark told everyone there that there are no expansion plans in the near future and there are no plans for a hotel behind the park. You may see a few changes inside the park but that is it. After Verbolten, they won't be spending much money for a good while.

Ah, misinformation. ;)

In full disclosure, I will say this: The rumor mill hasn't been as active as of late. I have to wonder if some things may have been swept off the table... :-/

Just to clarify: We have not received any news or rumors to suggest that our previous reports are incorrect, but things have been oddly quiet.

In regards to future expansion, the park clearly has leaks that I am sure they intend on fixing. However, the next 5 year plan to be done by 2016 at latest was a resort, two dark rides, full year operation, maybe a new country maybe, and the train station in Germany.

I am sure after the hefty price tag on Verbolten, and the leaks that seemed to over exaggerate a certain situation, the park may have delayed those plans until further notice. I wouldn't say the plans are gone, but probably on hold at most.

Now in regards to the resort specifically, I can say this is misinformation given out by the park on purpose. My little birdie had said that this September they will announce the resort. Not saying this hasn't been put on hold, BUT you can count on it being in the near future.
