Back in my day, we operated AC in a Tropical Storm! Get off my lawn! Damn hippies!
There have also been several cases of wind gust causing a coaster to valley out at a bad location which is why many if not all coaster now have a wind limit. Given how challenging evac at some spots even under optimum condition would be let alone in any significant wind wind limits seem like a very good idea.

When I visited BGW a few days ago and tried to ride Apollo around 8:30pm, there was a sign at the entrance saying it was "closed due to cold temperatures." I asked an operator at the entrance and he said the same thing: cold temperatures. It was 51 degrees outside at the time.

Is Apollo's minimum temperature cutoff really that extreme? Or was it just a lie?

Probably like people didn't show and they didn't have a "low staff closure" sign... shutdown should be at 40. I do know that they will close all day if it is close at opening and they anticipate closing within the first hour, but this doesn't sound like that.

Would this happen to be on Thursday? If so, I’m pretty sure it was a maintenance thing and not temperature related. I noticed it was closed but it was in the 50s. No way that’s temperature related.

Yep, Thursday. The team member must've either been woefully misinformed or just didn't care enough to say something different from what the sign said. :p

Apparently there's more to the story, though apologies if this has already been posted somewhere:

Arguing against that is this video. The camera appears in the same condition post accident as pre accident. Fabio also says in the interview "that it wasn't a random accident that it happening again might kill someone" That wouldn't be the case if it was simply the camera used for the promotion.

I noticed last night on my only ride, a bunch of bright orange steel sitting on the asphalt under the lift hill next to the Roman Rapids. Any ideas?
Orange makes me think tempesto- not Apollo. However if they were looking to do one hell of a statement- orange steel for Apollo would certainly be the way to go.

I noticed it as well this past weekend, also there was new lumber near the sections of steel. My guess is this related to Roman Rapids maintenance work. There is some steel involved with Rapids including a gate of sorts that can stop rafts at certain sections. Given Rapids hasn't run for guests since 2019, I'd imagine it will need a fair amount of work before it's ready for guests again.

I wonder if it's part of the DarKoaster delivery and it's starting to be built now.

I doubt it is for DarKoaster. The first rule of construction is to have materials delivered as close as possible to where you need them.

I also can't imagine it being for Apollo as that just got painted a couple years ago, and also not for Tempesto given it was just down for a few months for annual maintenance. As such, I am also thinking it is for Roman Rapids, and time will tell.

It looked a lot like catwalks. I wish I had my phone on me to take a picture waiting in line. Next time I go if its there ill grab one

A could thoughts on this one that is not that far from the Rhine bridge I have been told that work is supposed resume on that at some point but was led to believe we were looking at fall at the latest.

The other is Roman Rapids area has seen a lot of general storage use since Pantheon took over that area it's possible thar these are things the park has for general maintenance that just ended up being put there for now.

It seems like they are expecting significant lines for AC this year? There is now a single rider line that extends all the way to the entrance to the line and the bridge that crosses over to the station now has a rope divider splitting through it. I guess it would make sense for Pantheon to spike ACs queue a bit on busier days, I feel like in my visits over the last year I've only seen the line reach the switchbacks at the entrance once on a Friday in October during Howl-O-Scream.

One could argue either that Pantheon will pull traffic toward AC, or pull it off of it. On Friday we found Pantheon shut down and said "Well, let's ride Apollo's Chariot!" There will probably be a fair bit of that—traffic that came that way for Pantheon and found it down or too long a line.
