Did we figure out exactly what has caused Apollo to be down? I know the most popular theory is new control system, but has anyone actually confirmed that? Is it possible that the off-season maintenance just took longer this year (ie a delayed replacement part(s))? Hopefully someone can head back there this Saturday (I won't be able to make preview day) as long as the area isn't blocked off.

My understanding is it's a labor dispute.

Apollo is striking for having to run an entire coaster on his own, while Pantheon's lazy butts do 1/5th of the work.

Honestly? Good for him.

So I have some information on that. They have been waiting on parts for planned maintenance. Also contributing to the delay is the fact that the ride being completely rewired and there were some delays related to Pantheon and other projects shutting down power in the area causing limited time to do the work. So it's the commination of all of that which is delaying the opening.

Do you know if they are getting a new panel? I would love to see a nice shiny Consign panel when I visit in a few weeks.

Hey, when Verbolten's trains were in the parking lot back in 2012 (the first year I was there in which a new coaster was built), I took tons of pictures of the wheel assemblies, linkages between cars, and other nerdy engineering things. I'm not ashamed of that! lol

P.S. Is it really that nerdy that I want to bring my laptop with me next time I visit and gain legal access to the electrical rooms to upload all of the coaster's PLC programs? JK, but if I could, I would.

I used to get my film point-and-shoot as far under the Drachen Fire display car as I could, to try and understand more about the wheel assemblies.

The construction of Apollo makes gaining that knowledge so, SO much easier. Also now there's the Internet.
