I was merely providing an answer for both camps. The most important thing to consider, however, that all B&M “hypers“ are rapier than other manufacturer’ coasters.

Mako takes my clothes off way more forcefully than Apollo.

But Apollo has more finesse.

I could feasibly rank the first half of Mako as slightly better than Apollo’s Chariot, but the rest of it isn’t quite as strong. The first view of the lake is breathtaking and I am always pleasantly caught off-guard by the force of the first drop. However, soon thereafter, the ride feels a bit too intense, jerky, and awkwardly-paced for what I expect from a hyper coaster. It’s almost like Mako is trying to feel like a giga, but not all the way.

I guess it’s all about what you expect from the experience. If Mako was previously my only reference for a hyper coaster, I might think that AC is beautiful-looking, but too tame. It’s rare to hear anything negative about AC, but I occasionally hear things like: “It’s a gorgeous ride, but I was expecting something more.“

I’m listening to Mako’s soundtrack as I’m writing this.

Mako’s score is like the music in a video game that has its good moments, but largely goes unnoticed (Fallout, Call of Duty, etc.). Most of it just plays in the background and sets the tone. It does it very beautifully, at that. Heck, some of the good moments are good enough to make one want to pray or reflect for a while, before it goes back to being generic.

Apollo’s Chariot’s score on the other hand is like the catchy/memorable type of video game music that’s arguably better than the game itself (Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda). It’s not overall as serious as Mako’s score, but it’s more memorable, and enjoyable as a whole, in my opinion.

(Granted; I did have some random motifs from Mako stuck in my head after my first or second time hearing it and thought: “Where did that tune come from?”)

The problem is that AC hardly uses any of its music, and I wonder what happened to all those beautiful stanzas that we hear in the official public release of the Apollo’s Chariot Suite. It’s such a shame for all of that to go to waste.

I've got a controversial statement of my own: I think the long trains like Behemoth/Diamondback/Intimidator are better looking than the four-across trains. In fact, I think the four-across trains look dorky in general (though BGW does a much better job making the four-across trains look less dorky than most).

Yikes, that is controversial. I haven’t been on any of the staggered seating trains but I find the 4 across ones to be better for sitting as a group and being less confusing to board than I imagine the staggered ones are
