I still think it means nothing, but the bizarre awkwardness of the wording "Really More Coming" does seem strange.

Eh, not really. I think people are reading to deep into it and seeing what they want to see. It didn't really hint to anything, "There's Really More Coming!" looked like it was talking about all of the new additions coming to the park next year. Had it said "Stay tuned!" or "But wait- there's more!", I would be more inclined to believe they had something else planned for 2017. "There's Really More Coming" just says "Look, we're adding more stuff!"

Honestly if they don't give us a coaster in 2018 I highly recommend not renewing any passes because very likely we would be looking at a Geauga Lake situation.

Not trying to make a big deal but I'm feeling that you are very opinionated madmax and for a park that has had something upgraded or added to every year since a record breaking coaster is pretty awesome. Sure I'd love a new coaster or rmc of hurler but I'm alright with my home park having one of the nicest kids areas, and a nice addition to their waterpark, revitalization, and to top that off 2 large flats since intimidator. Kings dominion is no where near geauga and I personally have enjoyed what kd has offered the last 6 years.

On a second note the wording they used for "really more coming" has me intrigued now that it has been brought up.

I could not have said that better. KD does very well keeping their older rides going. And I think it's why their base is consistent enough for 'something' new each year. I mean geez, they have a nationally ranking Halloween event. To think they would suffer as Geauga did is completely rediculous. I'll be visiting KD for many years to come.

I think KD is up for a coaster in 2018 because of Wonderland having issues with rate of exchange but who knows.

Like it has been said before, I think that the park is trolling. They are hinting at things that are completely deniable. They know what you want and are getting the rumor mills grinding.

Something tells me they are using this trolling as part of #KD2018's campaign. In other words, they know of a big project for 2018 but are hyping it up now just to create more buzz. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they already start teasing for that year if Hurler is torn down.

I think you may need to let the fanboy inside of you calm down abit. The financial backing Cedar Fair is giving Carowinds is only making it tougher on us as a park. For KD to come up with it's own resources and contribute to a high caliber ride like you are talking about just dosn't seem possible at this time.

That was a 3 year plan, not for the foreseeable future.

The whole reason for the three year investment was to raise attendance. Attendance has been raised. They will NOT stop investing in Carowinds with attendance numbers rising. There will be an entirely new plan every year as long as there is steady rising attendance. Carowinds will keep getting new attractions well beyond the 3 year investment plan.

That doesn't have a direct effect on KD

I will.

Investment decisions are mostly made at the corporate level. We know that CF has decided to focus on Caro as the regional flagship. Since financial resources are in fact zero-sum, if they are primarily being given to Caro, then KD has much less to use. Furthermore, it means that CF is more likely to give Caro the big upgrades than KD.

So, an investment plan for Caro does, in fact, affect KD directly.

To be clear, I am not saying that KD won't get something big in 2017 or 2018. I am merely addressing the assertion that KD isn't affected by investment in Caro.

Wait. Back up.

Does this say that Kings Dominion is getting a new coaster because of Canadas Wonderland having trouble converting revenue to American dollars?

If so, huh?

What I read somewhere but maybe I'm wrong.

They still teach me that. Still gonna use it though :p

Also, I think they might not get a coaster next year, but who knows. Im okay with waiting for a coaster as long as its awesome when its built.
