The Wave Swinger is such a massive, massive get for Great Adventure and it complements the area theme beautifully. Hopefully it ends up with a nice, prominent spot in the new area.
I like that it offers a milder alternative to SkyScreamer. Not that SkyScreamer is a high intensity ride, but its scale could be intimidating to younger riders so having a more traditional, lower to the ground Wave Swinger is great. I personally always loved the idea of having junior options to larger scale rides in amusement parks, and this does that so well for Great Adventure.

It’s been my personal biggest hope for a SFA pickup for the park. Getting a new one nearly two decades after the park’s opening day Wave Swinger was removed is huge.

Going off the speculation that the “five” in the teaser meant 5 new experiences, that means:

1. Swashbuckler
2. Ragin Cajun
3. NebulaZ
4. Wave Swinger
5. ???

I think we can assume 5 is not a retheme of Superman considering it’s allegedly going to open with the park. Do we think the flying scooters are the 5th ride or something else?

I’d bet money that the flying scooters are the fifth ride.

NebulaZ is a modern and relatively new flat ride and would be a great fit perfect for a family thrill. Flying Scooter and Wave Swinger give the park family flats this park really needs. It’s creative to install of these rides pretty last minute to bring excitement for 2026. It appears these rides are getting refurbished so they can last. I can understand the worries about maintenance issues from many being old or only lasting for handful of years. But I am sure GA has more plans for newer flats in the coming years. Seeing the complete overhaul and renovation of the boardwalk is definitely a positive sign of much needed investment into the park and is a great outlook under this new company.

Wave Swinger is a natural for GAdv and the boardwalk area. And while I truly enjoy rides on a NebulaZ, that line is going to be brutal. GAdv is one of the last parks I suspected would get SFA's NebulaZ, solely because of capacity.

Six Flags Great Adventure Teases Two New Coaster Projects, 2026 Season with Revamped Boardwalk Area - 42 Freeway

If you live in South Jersey and don't follow 42Freeway.com for regional updates, you're not living correctly. Mark Matthews, the site runner, just posted a great overview of what's currently known about the park's upcoming enhancements and how to go about purchasing season passes. No real groundbreaking information, but he does a heck of a job of providing updates on new businesses, construction projects, and municipality improvements that are grounded in fact-based reporting with minimal speculation/sensationalism, so wanted to give him a plug.

I'm loving these updates. As great as it is to get new massive coasters, the park has been in desperate need of some flats and mid-level thrills for a while. And I really like how they're grouping them into the boardwalk themed section. I wonder if they might move the Scrambler (Deja Vu) over there, as that would also fit the theme really nicely.
Or they could add a Tilt-A-Whirl, Music Express, Enterprise, etc. (Am I just being greedy now? haha.)

According to ETR, these rides aren’t gonna open till late spring at the earliest. Hopefully that’ll give the park some time to not only tidy them up but also do some serious landscaping of the surrounding areas (since the area by GL especially needs it)

I was thinking about the landscaping as well. Considering how tight the timeline is I don't expect much beyond basic trees, shrubs and flowers, but I would really like a more natural barrier between the new area and the parking lot. Earth mounds, rows of trees, etc. Anything but standing in the middle of the shiny new space and starring into a parking lot. lol I have faith they'll do the best they can with the time they have this year. Maybe a good barrier could be apart of phase two if its not completed this year...

I would assume whatever we get this year is only phase 1, and next year will be the completion of the Boardwalk redo/expansion. I think they will try to get as much done as they can before daily operations, and then whatever is left to do will be done in the fall or 2027. I agree though, I hope they are able to add landscaping along the perimeter at a minimum so it's not like you're looking straight into a parking lot from the pathway lol.

Is the Daredevil Dive plot technically considered the Boardwalk? Based on prior info, it seems like they are mostly focused on GL's plot so I'm assuming all the rides will go there.

DDD plot is more "central" and surrounded on all sides. I personally don't foresee anything in that plot for a couple of years at least.
