The Wave Swinger is such a massive, massive get for Great Adventure and it complements the area theme beautifully. Hopefully it ends up with a nice, prominent spot in the new area.
I like that it offers a milder alternative to SkyScreamer. Not that SkyScreamer is a high intensity ride, but its scale could be intimidating to younger riders so having a more traditional, lower to the ground Wave Swinger is great. I personally always loved the idea of having junior options to larger scale rides in amusement parks, and this does that so well for Great Adventure. The Wave Swinger is such a massive, massive get for Great Adventure and it complements the area theme beautifully. It’s been my personal biggest hope for a SFA pickup for the park. Getting a new one nearly two decades after the park’s opening day Wave Swinger was removed is huge. The Wave Swinger is such a massive, massive get for Great Adventure and it complements the area theme beautifully. I’d bet money that the flying scooters are the fifth ride.Going off the speculation that the “five” in the teaser meant 5 new experiences, that means:
1. Swashbuckler
2. Ragin Cajun
3. NebulaZ
4. Wave Swinger
5. ???
I think we can assume 5 is not a retheme of Superman considering it’s allegedly going to open with the park. Do we think the flying scooters are the 5th ride or something else?
I was thinking about the landscaping as well. Considering how tight the timeline is I don't expect much beyond basic trees, shrubs and flowers, but I would really like a more natural barrier between the new area and the parking lot. Earth mounds, rows of trees, etc. Anything but standing in the middle of the shiny new space and starring into a parking lot. lol I have faith they'll do the best they can with the time they have this year. Maybe a good barrier could be apart of phase two if its not completed this year...According to ETR, these rides aren’t gonna open till late spring at the earliest. Hopefully that’ll give the park some time to not only tidy them up but also do some serious landscaping of the surrounding areas (since the area by GL especially needs it)
I would assume whatever we get this year is only phase 1, and next year will be the completion of the Boardwalk redo/expansion. I think they will try to get as much done as they can before daily operations, and then whatever is left to do will be done in the fall or 2027. I agree though, I hope they are able to add landscaping along the perimeter at a minimum so it's not like you're looking straight into a parking lot from the pathway lol.I was thinking about the landscaping as well. DDD plot is more "central" and surrounded on all sides. I personally don't foresee anything in that plot for a couple of years at least.I would assume whatever we get this year is only phase 1, and next year will be the completion of the Boardwalk redo/expansion. Is the Daredevil Dive plot technically considered the Boardwalk? Based on prior info, it seems like they are mostly focused on GL's plot so I'm assuming all the rides will go there.
