New upload is just re: Stormwater and Resource Protection Division approval. Nothing interesting for our purposes.

Final reviews on the current submittal are due before the end of the month. Hopefully the third time is the charm here and BGW didn't miss anything that will require a fourth round. Down to the wire at this point already if BGW wants to stick to the schedule they've been toying with internally.

I wouldn't be surprised if this project ends up being a summer release. BGW has avoided the major delays that other parks have dealt with recently, but the fact of the matter is that the workforce within the company that is meant to be handling these projects are understaffed and under compensated with a high degree of turnover across the chain. Williamsburg is a less competitive market for this kind of work so perhaps BGW can avoid the issues that other locations have right now; time will tell.

I still see no reason to stress, you have to realize that these projects are bid out to contractors and suppliers. There is a small army of workforce that wants to get going on the project too, there are still 7 months until the next calendar year, we have almost 12 months if they want to have a launch date comparable to the launch of Nessie. They can build a high rise in DC in that time frame. This is 40-80 (shooting from the hip haven’t counted) concrete footers, and between theming, and the Chesapeake Bay foundation regulations they have a very minimal excavation. Plus the buzz is the general contractor heading the project up is the same ones that handled vBolt, tempesto, invader, and many other Reno projects in the park, so they should be able to integrate with the parks system well and its far from there first rodeo.

More red B&M track spotted out in Ohio! Can anyone decipher anything from the codes on them?

On the track ends That looks like dates and signatures of the people on the team that made them.

I don’t want you to think I’m talking down, but I can’t think that they would give it any kinda labeling like that, I would assume they are probably only ever working on a few coasters at a time and they probably are different colors. I figure that text probably corresponds with a site layout map for track section locating.

INT = Intamin
AB = Anhueser Busch
5/2/24 = Exactly 2 weeks before BGW’s 49th birthday
5/11/24 = 5 divided by 11 divided by 24 equals 0.01894. Swap the middle digits and you get 1984, a subtle nod to BBW’s opening year
Rally = a reference to the fact that there’s “Rally” More Coming

Looks like this is definitely a new BBW coming to BGW for the park’s anniversary. Oh, and it’s an Intamin/RMC hybrid. Amazing what you can glean from just a little deciphering.

That is a key Department for approval. SRP has jurisdiction over environmental, stormwater, drainage, grading, erosion control, RPA and Chesapeake Bay regulations. It is one of the most difficult agencies to receive approval. This is big.

I'm gonna be PISSED if Tampa gets a swinging/suspended coaster and Holzfäller doesn't swing, BGW management will never hear the end of it.
Replying here since Phoenix Rising is confirmed to not swing. I was already skeptical about this swinging, because of the documents for this hinting at near-miss theming elements that cannot be safely executed with swinging vehicles.

Repeating a sentiment I've said here before: BGW management will never hear the end of it, if they declare this non-swinging ride to be the return of the Big Bad Wolf, doing the ride and the riders a disservice. I will be perfectly happy with them calling it the son/heir/successor of the Wolf, something that makes it clear that while this is a ride with a 42" minimum and vehicles underneath red track, that this is a new experience and not at all the same ride.

Got a little bit of movement we are now two days past the site review date, but we don’t have a failure, assuming from my experience with past projects I have managed I am assuming that means there may still be some small issues with the site plans but it might be so close they are letting them adjust these one or two things instead of another 30-60 day delay. There is now a new attachment in the folder and I think this might be the most exciting thing to note. It appears to me that the village front facade is much more then that, there seems like an entire town square to it with 2d and 3d buildings maybe even with functional lighting elements ???? If this true talk about a night ride experience.

It is my sincere hope that this is not simply a 2000FT-long B&M family invert wedged in the back of the park without a real theme or something to look at except oak trees. Having dimensional buildings and lighting takes this ride, and the park, a long ways towards having more experiences, and not just "rides."

The coaster alone is not that expensive, and since its not a Giga or anything of the sort, allocate the leftover funds for a good theme and some thoughtfully-integrated LED's at the very least.

Keep that LNM momentum going, PLEASE! 🤓
