They probably listened to @BGLegend again and decided to build an RMC hybrid instead. The intended height might be utilized for a large drop or smth. Anything could happen. BGLegend always predicts the future.
I'd be happy with watching the hang-and-bang* go the way of Drachen Spire, and Drachen RMC show up in 2026.

*I heard this term being used to refer to SLCs, I will extend that to all non-swinging inverted coasters.

There is one way I will accept a hang-and-bang. The lack of swinging allows for far tighter clearances. Theming that takes full advantage of this and provides plenty of near-misses would make the lack of swinging worth it.

The early Vekoma family inverts have also been called hang-and-bang for good reason. But Dragonflier is the smoothest thing I've ever ridden and I'd expect B&M's family invert to be similar.
Dragon Flier also slightly swings. Enough for RCDB to call it a suspended.

Maybe I am being too harsh. This isn't 90s B&M with the crazy whip moves (Alpie's cobra roll and Raptor's entry into the final brake run beat me every time), Silver Bullet in particular did a decent approximation of swinging, and they'll definitely tone down the intensity from there.

I think the picture in our minds is that LNM is a restoration out of love, where this is sorta viewed as a corporate-pushed copy and paste, but I will judge this coaster’s theming potential on how great or lousy LNM’s restoration is still.

Can the park recognize Verbolten is great because it’s themed well? If it was just all dark in there, (yeah-yeah, it’s getting there gradually), it wouldn’t have the same appeal.

I would love this invert to come to Busch Gardens. I truly would. But I’d sooner remove the Roman Rapids or use the valley area by LNM/Scotland/Ireland and put eyes on it constantly.

Just thinking about the layout design of this ride. Did they REALLY add a 2nd lift hill because Big Bad Wolf had 2 lift hills? Imagine that conversation "I think the thing everyone remembers most about Big Bad Wolf is the 2nd lift hill, definitely the 2nd lift hill." *guy nods confidently and smirks*

We remember the 2nd lift hill so well because it led to an insane epic finale where it turns along the river, a moment the roller coaster that replaced Big Bad Wolf already recreated. A part of me wonders if this route got chosen to take pressure off DarKoaster and to capitalize on nostalgia since DarKoaster has the apparent optics of "success" with its routine hour plus waits. I just hope they execute the onboard audio as well as Big Bear Mountain does as that added quite a lot to that experience with the synchronization to the ride layout.

So.. if this is supposed to be the attraction for next year.. shouldn’t construction be starting soon? At least the clearing of the projected extension across the tracks. Scared with a year away… this seems to be a quick throw together
I'm sure there's work behind done behind the scenes (hardware and other shipments arriving). Site clearing is usually fairly quick. Access to the site is also completely backstage and easy to get to when the park is open so construction can move along VERY swiftly this summer/fall.

I wouldn't count on Howl-o-Scream being in the site this year at all. Maybe witch of the woods will open but I'm not sure. So, they'll have uninterrupted time to build without the hindrance of the park being open. This is likely part of the reason Loch Ness Monster is taking so long to get done. When the park opens, nobody can use heavy equipment or vehicles anymore because of the location of the ride being inaccessible from backstage.

I don't forsee a very lengthy construction process for Minigeist.

Pantheon work didn't start till mid summer of the year before it was supposed to open. Regardless work can't really start till the county approves the plans which as of two minutes ago when I checked before posting were still listed as under review.
