Well, the 1st year of the Lost World operations (1979), the name of the water dark ride was "Voyage to Atlantis" and the electric mine train dark ride was "Journey to the Land of Dooze". Even "Time Shaft" was sort of an expedition oriented name. The sign could be a play on what was originally there. Not saying there are any "future" teases in its meaning.

they should add a maverick launched blitz or harry potter style coaster focused on airtime and length and a theme because they took out one of the most unique coasters on the planet and it was one of my childhood memories so like bwg with verbolten they really have to up there game on the next coaster so i say wait until 2021 save the money and really go big budget! I really dont want copperhead strike
i just had a crazy idea based on Pantheon, the switch tracks, and how I really don't like this new trend of "multi-launch" using one launch track going forwards and backwards, and it is this: a launch coaster that goes around twice, the second time slightly faster! The switch tracks would be used to bypass the load station for the second lap. Not necessarily related to Volcano, just wanted to throw this somewhere.
CS had big budget and Hagrid's is like an even milder version except for increased theming and bigger budget. Verbolten also falls way short of its huge budget. I think something like that would be good for the Volcano site, what I already called a launched mine train, but only if it's not the big budget attraction! Of course Maverick shows more is possible at about the same budget as CS...
I did ride Anaconda last Sunday and maybe it's me but it seemed like the track was even rougher between the first 2 inversions. It can probably be made to go half of forever and I do think it has some redeeming features but it would be a good choice for another idea I've been having regarding aging parks, Replace Like with Like. Just newer and better. Stay with a conventional lift multi-looper but since it is over water go over to inverted. Wing might also work but not as well. This would be the replacement for Anaconda and yet filling the gap left by Volcano. A smaller coaster in the Volcano site would be its replacement and maybe attempt to fill the role of themed attractions in that space but not its thrill level.
Or leave Anaconda and figure out how to fit something with a truly intense launch or 2 into the Volcano space.
I'm still thinking they could be way ahead of us on this and already had some general plans by the time they announced Volcano's demise. Or at least some kind of budget timeline.

Great minds think alike! I conceptualized the same type of configuration for a launch coaster when I was brainstorming 2021 layouts! Maybe I'll have to elaborate on it... It is a pretty neat idea!

Though I would've expected Crypt to have bitten the dust this season it apparently was liked enough to be kept for a while longer, though I imagine Volcano's closure had a major impact on that.
Volcano is large enough on its own that warranting the removal of another attraction to make space for its replacement would be unwise. I imagine if the replacement is an invert like hinted that it wouldn't be much larger than Talon or Patriot.

I know Avalanche isn't a big or historic coaster, but it's got low downtime, despite being rare it isn't a pain to maintain, and it's extremely unique not just for the area but in general.
Can't get rid of it without something being wrong with it.
Plus....in a park that's recently had issues with removing rides, removing two more just to add one is a bad move.

The only current information we have is that Volcano is gone.

No information on this what so ever, but considering that Cedar Fair is almost exclusively using B&M for their steelys I'm starting to imagine a launched version of something like Banshee.
I know, I know, a launched B&M invert sounds ludicrous, considering the brand has only ever really produced one true launch coaster and it was of the Winged variety, but hey it's something to think about.

So many people are obsessed with making this fit within Volcano's plot. What if it doesn't? Why can't the lift hill go over FoF's launch tunnel? Run up along I-305 in that massive empty (and frankly unusable due to access) plot, return run behind FoF?

**Scrambler** is either being relocated or being removed.
Crypt is staying and so is Avalanche.
Volcano's plot of land is not that big, but this replacement is likely staying within the Volcano/Scrambler site and not using the entire area. The Flight of Fear building will probably still be completely visible.
