Did they use similar signs around the area when they were building Volcano? Just thinking it could be like the regular large sign in that they were using old signage to help fill the theming gap.

They were simply put up as decoration, similar way to how a nearby park needed to paint some fences.

I’m sorry, but this strikes me as straight up incorrect and you seem to be asserting things without a shred of evidence. It’s possible that even the park doesn’t know exactly what they were teasing, but it’s abundantly clear that the language of the signs was to tease something.

My own personal hypothesis is that something on the signs was incorrect. Maybe the rumor that Volcano’s replacement got pushed to 2022 is correct, and therefore the 21 yellow lines on the signs were no longer accurate?

So you accuse me of asserting something, and then assert something yourself?

Where are you hearing this???
Some younger guy at Busch one day who claimed that he knows a thing or two about KD because he knows someone who is at least a supervisor of some kind there. I don't really believe stuff like that but he specifically told me it'll be record breaking. This was before Jersey Devil was announced. Who knows, maybe now that the ball's rolling for bigger and better Raptors, it could happen.

That sounds beyond suspicious to me. It's easy to go around acting like you know something. If there was any credibility to his info then it would be out there from others as well.

Trust me, I'm not new here. I know how credibility works. The main takeaway here should be that Raptors are going to be built more.

If the guy I know still is at BGW (haven't spoken with him in about 3 years), he knows a lot of people at KD. Not sure if this is the same person we are talking about, but I would trust him as much as anyone outside the KD Engineering dept. We even prank called Windseeker from the Griffon park phone since he knew the outside line's number that went to Windseeker that existed at the time.

The guy I was referring to was not a team member. He was just some other need that I met while running around for the Pantheon pin giveaway a while back.

Ok hear me out on this one... this might get crazy. What IF, the next ride is themed to something "burning down". Which would be like Volcano being demolished, the volcano blew up(tore down) and its now leaking lava our burning whats around it. Could retheme the whole area and tie it into The Crypt which is on fire. Maybe even wooden coaster which looks like it's starting to burn down.

What if the replacement is actually back by TT since there appears to be a huge amount of space left over from where Hypersonic used to stand... They also haven't bothered demolishing the station either (yes, I'm aware El Dorado Drive-in was in that general space for a short time).

I wouldn't exactly describe Hypersonic's old ride area as a huge area of space. Behind Grizzly itself sure, but the property isn't anywhere near as much of an immediate utility as Volcano's now open footprint.

Plus, wasn't most of Hypersonic situated over the pathway anyway? A lot of that space has been cut out with the addition of Windseeker and Americana.
Keep in mind Americana does not sit in any space that HyperSonic occupied. It sits on the site of the former up-charge trampoline attraction; which, in turn, sat on the site of the CAG skyride station. XLC made a 180 degree turn just before the outer path that runs in front of the vine arbor and CAG west restrooms. The ferris wheel is about 30-40 yards from the outer southeast perimeter of the former XLC site.

Most of the XLC site is now open plaza/pathways with the planter islands, Windseeker, and the former Zombie High Haunt queue/building.[/QUOTE]

To be fair I'm not saying whatever they choose to add would be huge, I'm really thinking more of the idea that there is an abandoned station that likely has retained utility hookups over there that could be repurposed for a ride rather cheaply.

For the Volcano site, they have plenty of space for something huge if they're ok with going over top/behind of FoF and parallel i305.

So... Like... A ride that is based on the aftermath of a volcano... maybe water based... like Escape from Pompeii... ;)
