RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

So.  If the park is planning a new hamlet at some point, are there any specific flats that anyone would like to see?

A big disco like someone else said. I have no clue who makes it or what the name is but Six Flags is putting in a few Cyborg Cyber Spins, I would love to see one of those (even though I likely wouldn't ride it). Maybe an enterprise.

And bring back LeMans!

I really, really want a Spider. I miss that ride so much. I understand, of course the capacity issue. I used to sprint to Oktoberfest first thing to beat the line.

So, I would love to see a Schwarzkopf Monster 3 installed.

Most of the now 10 PM closing nights were 9 PM when Drachen Fire existed.
Respectfully... that's absolutely and demonstrably untrue.  The park generally stayed open later in those days, and the older brochures' operating calendars back that up.

But this 9pm notion is particularly odd given that there was no such thing as a 9pm close at BGW in 1993. Or 1994.  Or 1995, 1996, or 1997.  (Didn't bother to check 1992 or 1998 since the pattern is already clear.)

Maybe you're thinking of a different park?

Some rough numbers for those who care...

Nights open until 10pm or later, May-Oct:
1993: 92
2017: 63

Nights open until midnight, May-Oct:
1993: 11
2017:  4

Most 1990s-era calendars had stats very similar to the 1993 example above.

Operating realities aside, I really do wish the park stayed open later these days.  To me, the park's most beautiful time of day in the '90s was the 9pm-midnight stretch.  It was a three-hour block of slow pathway strolls lit by shop windows; night rides on dark terrain-following beasts like LNM, Alpengeist, and especially BBW; and hamlet music languidly floating through the air from sources invisible while crowds thinned out to leave a quiet, reflective back half of the park.  You could truly cool off from the summer heat, and either hit your favorite ride a ton of times or slowly enjoy the park at its very best. Magic.

Edit: Also, tracer lights.

I don't remember and was not often in the park late anyway back then. I remember that when I last cancelled my membership (just started one up now) most summer nights were 9 and then they turned around and went to 10 the next year. That was maybe 4 years ago. I just assumed it was never better. Interesting. The 9-midnight sounds nice.

A Second Generation Enterprise or a suspended top spin

As a quick side question, are there other easter eggs in the park? Not necessarily regarding any new attractions but just small things much like Disney's hidden Mickeys. I've considered adding my own on more than one occasion but I never know what or how.

Catapult would probably move there.

My thoughts exactly. I suggested a name of La Catapulta awhile back. I'm almost thinking the park has to move it as a nod to fans who know the history. And put it back in a dark building, like in the days of Hastings.

Gatekeeper has gotten quite rough with the wing rider design and it's only 170 feet tall. Either B&M needs to really beef up the design of their wing trains or go to a design like HP has on Skyrush with two inboard, two outboard seats.

Rough, you think? I just rode that repeatedly in August (first time) and not only did I find it to be the best coaster in the park, but one of the smoothest B&Ms (that's like saying the quietest Lexus IMHO) I've ever ridden. B&M wing or otherwise. And I ride them in the back.

I thought Raptor was much rougher, again in the back, and I even feel that now with Alpie as I get older. (Not a "rough" ride mind you, just by B&M standards, as the back of an invert does have some intensity).

Now on whether they could pull off the engineering--I completely agree on that. A 315' wing would be a challenge (I would think) given the rotational forces the wide trains would create at that scale. I'm not sure I see it, though I'd love it. If not a wing though, I'll take any B&M.

True, they could go with a design like Skyrush, but B&M doesn't have anything like that. I don't even consider Skyrush to be a wing. No disrespect to Intamin or HP; it's a fine ride, but nothing like a B&M wing.

Not for nothing, but the double Anton Schwarzkopf shuttle loop, Greezed Lightning at Kentucky Kingdom is in storage...  It started life as the two "Tidal Wave"s at the Marriott parks.  (oh, how I wish Marriott was still in the park business) Just think of it, newly acquired Willimasburg Marriott property with a brand new amusement park addition complete with historically accurately themed rides! I digress

74 pages of “speculation” and still no conclusions. Welp. Ima start hopping on the deer theory. Extremely plausible if you ask me.

We're in the rumors forum. Conclusions will be posted to the news forum.

I truly need to start exploring things. Thanks for the info, I had no idea that there was a news forum.
