RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

It's either unrelated or tied to Battle for Eire. Far too lazy to tease a major attraction that's 315 feet tall with a sign at Howl-o-scream.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

Did Suzy Cheely have much to do with Battle for Eire though? The HoS character with the sign is "Dr. Cheely's Monster" and mentions Tempesto and InvadR since she was Busch's project manager for those rides. If she hasn't had too much involvement with Battle for Eire, it could be teasing at a different new project she is managing.

Exactly what I’m trying to get at here. Someone who is VP of Engineering wouldn’t be animating, or designing new headsets. That’s why I think it has to do with 2019.

Unless something has changed, Larry Giles is still the VP of Engineering, not Suzy. I do agree however, that it doesn't seem in their line of work, even though there is a lot of engineering that goes into the VR rides.

Larry is supposedly going to be moved up to President Of Engineering, and she’ll be his replacement. That’s just speculation. For now she’s director of design and engineering.

For the most part, there isn’t much structural work going on. We’ll just have to see.

There is no such position as "President of Engineering." BGW has a Park President and then a collection of Vice Presidents that all manage different departments. Hence, Vice President of Design & Engineering, Vice President of Entertainment, Vice President of Marketing, etc.

Whoever is telling you this bullshit is taking you for a ride. It's just blatant falsehood after blatant falsehood.

[Edited to remove misunderstanding quoted below. My bad. ~ Zachary]

Also, supports piles have been built in festa pastures.

Your contradictions are making my head explode.

When I say structural work, I meant for Battle for Eire. When I said piles, I meant project 19. Your bluntness is making my head explode.

My bad, my apologies. I edited it out of my post and added a little comment to the bottom.

That said, my misunderstanding doesn't make your claims even the slightest bit more correct regarding piles having been driven in Festa Field. It is just a blatant falsehood.

Source: I was literally just at the park this weekend.

Also, I'm guessing you've never seen an attraction built before, but some words of advice from someone who has: Construction workers don't just show up one day with a pile driver and just start shoving metal beams in the ground in the middle of a field.

Not all of Festa pastures can be seen. They have 4 days in between HoS to progress in work.

Most of the now 10 PM closing nights were 9 PM when Drachen Fire existed.
Respectfully... that's absolutely and demonstrably untrue. The park generally stayed open later in those days, and the older brochures' operating calendars back that up.

But this 9pm notion is particularly odd given that there was no such thing as a 9pm close at BGW in 1993. Or 1994. Or 1995, 1996, or 1997. (Didn't bother to check 1992 or 1998 since the pattern is already clear.)

Maybe you're thinking of a different park?

Some rough numbers for those who care...

Nights open until 10pm or later, May-Oct:
1993: 92
2017: 63

Nights open until midnight, May-Oct:
1993: 11
2017: 4

Most 1990s-era calendars had stats very similar to the 1993 example above.

Operating realities aside, I really do wish the park stayed open later these days. To me, the park's most beautiful time of day in the '90s was the 9pm-midnight stretch. It was a three-hour block of slow pathway strolls lit by shop windows; night rides on dark terrain-following beasts like LNM, Alpengeist, and especially BBW; and hamlet music languidly floating through the air from sources invisible while crowds thinned out to leave a quiet, reflective back half of the park. You could truly cool off from the summer heat, and either hit your favorite ride a ton of times or slowly enjoy the park at its very best. Magic.

Edit: Also, tracer lights.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

Thanks for that data Halfabee! It was my recollection from years of looking at old brochures that the 9pm didn't sound right- I didn't have the resolve to go fact-check it though, so thank you!

Sure.

How about this: Show me the building permit that allows the park to be randomly driving piles into the ground. Hint: It doesn't exist.

You can believe whatever this person is telling you if you want. That said, when their blatantly false claims are posted here, I will call them what they are.

A quick search shows that pink flags mean temporary survey marks, unidentified/non-specific.

Excellent flag observation Metalman (note sure anyone had posted the color yet)--further reinforces that Drachen-area work is related to the documented permits filed for...HoS.

And I really don't think the park would hide a teaser for an attraction that still doesn't yet have all of the requisite approvals to move forward, and in so doing also leap-frog a confirmed attraction, Éire, that they are actually marketing with the promos on the website.

Additional shout-out to halfabee for the park close data...

I too thought the number of afterdark operating hours had declined, hence my thanks for your post about the challenge actually being open that late enough.

I don't have the data (old brochures buried somewhere) handy...

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

I once had a handful of older park brochures sitting around from grade school days, but a "what am I doing with these? and my life?" moment led to them being given away to an appreciative distant relative.

Now it's all Google, and some years' BGW calendars are harder to find than others.
