RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

Darn...I missed all the 'fun'. To me it's amazing how many times we have to point out that not a single thing can be built without a permit. Almost all the permits BGW have out right now have to do with HOS.

Literally the only things known with this ride right now is it's 315 feet tall, highest point in Festia Fields, and it's going to have a read light at the top.

Until the next permit is filed that's all we have. As much as I would love a coaster there's still chances this could be a starflyer, windseeker, flying deer, Coca-Cola bottle, a giant Canola, a ferris wheel, or even a giant sign. As much fun as it is to speculate...there's nothing else known. (Unless of course Zachary and Nicole know something we don't).

But if you want to be out ahead, just check permit filing with JCC every few days and look out for something new BGW to pop up. Use location, height, or anything else (it might not be named Project Madrid whenit's filed again) that we know about it already. Once we find that, then we'll know more.

But there's no way to know and no way to see work starting without that.

I Think its safe to say it wont be a windseeker. Cedar Fair has had so many problems with them that i dont think any company would be buying one anytime soon.

I was just trying to list anything I could think of that's tall and not a coaster or drop tower.

I don't know, looking at that picture, I could believe it's a tease for 2019. You can see that the new text is just the 2nd and 3rd lines (you can see the outline of the sticker):

She TEMPted the fates and INVADed new lands.
Her latest creation will astound the eye.

So, references to the last two coasters, and we can exclude the line about flying. Sounds like a nod to a coaster to me.

This monster in particular caught my eye, it's holding a new sign... I could be making something out of nothing, but the order of TEMPested > INVADed > "Her latest creation will astound the eye, For all we know her motto If you build it they will fly" really sounded off.. Park trolling us with easter Eggs?

I found a similar easter egg for Battle for Eire. I'll post it soon in that thread once I get the photo off of my camera.

Inverted, Flying, Terrain following, river-crossing, lopping, airtime, diving, top-hat wing-riding, first(!) hex launch with 600 foot drop, B&M AND RMC joint project CONFIRMED! (for 2019 opening with new resort for new Hamlet that will open 2018)

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

Fairies do fly, so I think this is a nod for Eire. Very cool and exciting pitch though!

Also, I had a thought. If 2019 brings a 315ft. tall Flyer (quite the feat for B&M) it will: 1.) Be the tallest/fastest of its kind, and my Lord, what a thrill to fly that fast 2.) Only one in VA 3.) Beat parks as major as Cedar Point to the punch, as we would have something very unique that they (surprisingly) don't. 4.) Be B&M's flagship 30th-year ride. 5.) I think if they are going for "unsurpassed" - this type of coaster will stay in the record books for a long-while, as flyers are fairly rare, there are none even close to that height and could be an inversion-record holder. Gigas are growing in presence at parks across the country, so 315 feet for a sitting coaster breaks new ground for VA (but only barely thanks to i305) - but for flying coasters - brings things to a whole new level. I'd estimate a drop of 295 out of that 315 for clearance of the train to terrain. How awesome it would be to hear the words "That's 100 feet taller than Alpengeist!" XD

Ok back to Planet Earth where we know nothing and my mind is lassoed back to the ground.

With cars that look like mechanical flying deer and a giant Coke bottle the top hat goes over!

Biggest problem with all of that: Gatekeeper has gotten quite rough with the wing rider design and it's only 170 feet tall. Either B&M needs to really beef up the design of their wing trains or go to a design like HP has on Skyrush with two inboard, two outboard seats.

You guys keep missing the big picture. Dr. Cheely’s monster. Suzy Cheely. Direction of design and ENGINEERING. A rollercoaster involves much more design and engineering then a VR ride. Heck, th VR ride basically only needs an animation, and new headsets. Maybe some changes to the simulator. I don’t think having it in Ireland means something. That would be the most prominemnt place to put a tease due to the monsters.

You lost me in April 2011.

You are showing a shocking lack of knowledge regarding even just the basics of the attraction design and construction process.

Who do you think oversees the design of an attraction? Manages the wide variety of contractors tasked to make each individual piece? Keeps each of these different independent gears in the machine that creates these attractions well-oiled and working together?

You seem to think that top-level Design & Engineering staff sit down at a drafting table and draw out blueprints for new rides. That isn't what they do at all. They conceptualize additions, source the products and services required to create them, work with local authorities to get all the right legal boxes checked, they oversee the entire process of every addition from inception to completion. Marco Polo's Marketplace was just as much a D&E project as InvadR or Tempesto. The same will be true for Battle for Eire.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

Battle for Eire still needed plenty of design and engineering...

Updates to the visual, how to get the VR sets around, how to hook them up, charge them, any redesign done at all to the que, the rooms, ect. All of that falls under design and engineering. To insinuate that this couldn't be about Battle for Eire just because the name references someone is a bit of reckless speculation.
