RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I voted Intamin (Intaride) due to the fact that that is who many believe is building BGT's new roller coaster (after they posted the teaser picture of the track piece), which sounds like it will be similar because they're both going to be "multi-launch" roller coasters.

Actually there is other 100% confirmation that the BGT coaster will be Intaride, other than that teaser.

Type in chase. Think about going through a redesigned BBW village.

Really cool website thanks for posting.

SECOND clip is up: Type in "RUSH"

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

They are not restricted to just using the bbw area. There is alot of space around it that they could easily use I think, even up to the area where the concerts are being held. That still would leave more than enough area for the new country down the road.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

yeah there is a massive amount of room back there but i do see this being more compacted than the BGT coaster since we have the ravines to play with that BGT does not

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Even though this coaster will not be that tall (I'm assuming), I hope it is longer than Griffon. We can't have two insanely short coasters back-to-back at BGW.

I'm sure it will be, although Big Bad Wolf was actually shorter than Griffon. Didn't seem so, but it was. I think the terrain and the second lift hill made it feel longer than it really was. I imagine the new coaster will have a similar effect, but I would guess the length of the new one will be somewhere between 3500-4000 ft. in length.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Track length doesn't matter as much to me as ride time does. It it is part dark ride (as it should be), that should greatly increase ride time.

I agree wholeheartedly.

From the little bit of info out there about this new coaster, I'm starting to believe the BBW station will not be used as the starting point. Instead, I believe it will be incorporated at some point during the ride.
That would rock.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I didn't necessarily mean in track length (though that would be nice). It's just that Griffon is so darn short, period. You pull back into the station and you're like, "Whoa, that was a really fun half-ride."

Anyways, I do believe it will be longer than Griffon and Loch Ness (which is longer than Griffon), but probably not any longer than Alpengeist. I had heard rumors that the BGT project would be slightly over 4,000 feet long, and I don't think it will be quite that long. I think they want to contain it in the BBW area. There is still plenty of room back there for a solid Drachen Fire length coaster.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

So part of the station and maintainance will remain intact....I was wondering.

Has/Will the village remain or has it been dismantled?

I hope the village remains and is used in the design.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

No, the village no longer exists. It was torn down along with the Big Bad Wolf.

Oh well, I guess that makes since now that I think about it.
It would be a pain to design and construct the coaster the way you wanted to with those pieces in place. No matter, hopefully the new coaster will be well themed.

That area in particular is great for a terrain coaster. The design team and drafters are going to have a blast coming up with a custom layout.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

The villages' destruction really brought tears to my eyes. It was something unlike any coaster I had ever ridden. That area is my personal favorite for a terrain coaster. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and the drop was quite breath-taking.
I may be in the wrong for saying this, but i really hope they create an entirely new path for the new coaster in 2012. There is no reason that Busch wouldn't do that, but just seeing a carbon copy, would be kinda of..tacky, to but it nicely. But I am positive that the new coaster will be as much fun to look at as it will be to ride.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Anyone else thinking there will be zero inversions on this coaster? The new fact sheet the park just put out describes the ride as "high-speed thrill packed with twists, turns and plunges". Perhaps "twists" is inversions, but I'm thinking it refers to the sharp transitions on Intamins. Thoughts?

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

while that can mean no inversions, i believe its way too soon in the game to start picking apart the information BGW is releasing just yet. our biggest fact sheet is that coaster being built at BGT right now. thats what we all need to be looking at. and if there is not any inversions on this coaster i would accept it because BGW needs that big sized family coaster in its collection. kids are always going to be afraid of loops over a drop or speed.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I hope it doesn't. I really don't want Intamin OTSR. :s (Assuming that it is Intamin)

If someone else makes it, I'll be fine either way.

Exactly, from the teaser videos they have posted, all I've seen is fast transitions and dives. Obviously there could be inversions in the ride, I haven't taken a hard look at the leaked plans and I know it's a stretched out track, but the main purpose of the ride is clearly not inversions, it's speed.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

To fill BBW accordingly I do not feel it should have inversions. BBW was known as a family coaster and fun for everyone. That should be carried over to its replacement. You will not see me fretting if it is lap bars and very fact with a lot of technical non inverted elements. Forceful helices, over-banked turns, and twists would manifest a smile a from me. As I do agree it is too early to draw any conclusions, I feel elemental speculation could be fun. With the slant of the entire station I would expect it to depart the station as BBW did
