RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf
I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced.
Remember what the application said:
Applicant proposes 2011 expansion to Germany to include new food buildings, walkway modifications, and major attraction
My Predictions:
- The upcoming Drop Tower uses the line area left over from the Big Bad Wolf and is located on the current station platform.
- Katapult gets scrapped, sold, or put into storage.
- New food/shops take the area used by Katapult.
- A walkway to bypass Der Marktplatz will be added to increase crowd flow though Germany and thus to the Drop Tower.
I'll be the first to admit that my predictions sound very grim. I really hope that this isn't the way that it turns out, however, I don't see anything to point me in any other direction. Here is why I think the way I do:
Prediction One:
I honestly don't see why Busch would leave such a large building standing for so long with no intention of using it in the VERY near future. Now many would argue that it will be used for Busch's next coaster, however, what kind of coaster could use that station? An Arrow? Anything else? Not that I know of. Now unless Busch would really be... dumb enough to build a recycled Arrow coaster, I don't see how the station can be reused (at least by another coaster).
Prediction Two:
I might sound like I'm a few fries short of a Happy Meal (Thanks Weird Al!), but I don't think that Katapult will be relocated. Why? One, it is so very similar to it's younger brother over in Da Vinci's Garden. Two, it doesn't draw the crowds that it once did (especially when you compare it to it's younger sibling).
Prediction Three:
Looks like a great outdoor eating area too me! It says pretty shady, doesn't have bad views, and it very assessable to people watching the fireworks from the conveniently located bridge.
Prediction Four:
This one is pure speculation.
NOTE: This is another one of those late-night posts that I can easily see myself looking back on in the morning and thinking "What was wrong with me?!".
