RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I think BGW should create a Revenge of The Wolf coaster. They should shatter Kingda Ka's Record for tallest and fastest coaster in the world. but instead of just the drop and launch, it should have a mix of everything, airtime, inversions and a bunch of banked turns to make you feel like you are coming out of your seat

What do you guys thhink??? :D

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Hey as long as it honors the Wolf in some way (or preferably some reinvented design on the original ride )... I may be more forgiving for BGW removing my favorite ride. Maybe. I am a tough one to please on this topic. I know right, who would have thought?

- and Nick all those concepts are very nice and I could see them incorporating elements such as those you mentioned in aspects that made the Wolf great. #1) Isolation..and terrain based. If I am speeding around the woods - better get close to them lovely trees! #2) Drop over the Rhine.. actually, make that number one. #3) Theme the heck out of it! Perhaps even adding sound effects in the coaster cars themselves. #4) I want to see a red track again.. with black cars... nothing said "Germany" better than the Big Bad Wolf. AwwooOOooOoo!

I agree with you 100%! Hopefully BGW is considering a coaster that pays tribute to the Big Bad Wolf. One thing I love about the park is the small wolf motif in the theming (Wolf Valley, Curse of Darkastle, and the BBW). Giving the future coaster a wolf theme would definitely impress the fans.

Maybe someone can design an innovative coaster that will be family friendly yet still "packs a punch" for intense coaster enthusiasts. I think that was a big reason why the Big Bad Wolf was such a success.

Cool idea, but keep in mind the Wolf was well known for being a thrilling coater as well as being friendly to younger kids, families, and beginner riders. I think the future coaster should follow this example.

The other coasters at BGW (excluding Grover's) are quite intense, the last thing the park needs is a juggernaut like Kingda Ka or Intimidator 305.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I would hate if they put in another 4D ride. They already have enough, but they barely have coasters, what 4? Without BBW the only good rides (I think) are Lochness Monster and Apollo's Chariot. They need more coasters.

Alpengeist?! Even Griffon! I don't know how many coasters you have been on outside of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, but I'm here to tell you that there isn't a non-world class coaster in our collection.

I do agree with your point about the 4D ride, however, if it was combined with the drop tower that we are getting next year, it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

Could the drop tower be the hybrid rumored to "change the park like DarKastle did"? I sure hope so.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Oh i forgot Alpengeist but i'm not sure i really like Griffon, the first drop is good i just cant say i like the rest it just repeats itself

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Grabbed a picture of the inside of the old BBW station.

That is an interesting photo Chris as I also took one of the same angle on Member's preview Day. Notice the wait lines are still in my photo. The station house also looks cleaner in your photo.

Hi Brian, I like your name. For some reason, I always get a chuckle when anyone says "I heart" anything. Welcome to the forum. :)

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Welcome Brian (or Rosko)! I heart BGW as well and I don't see that going away by 2020, either. (Yes, I REALLY just said that. I'm so corny - awwww shucks!) But really, welcome. grab a seat, sit down and enjoy the ride.

Wow ... so punny today. :p

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

thanks for the intro's guys, :D

Now, I was just wondering, since i haven't been to the park since august, bbw was still there. Soooooo, does the emptiness of its site really feel that substantial? Ive noticed you of all members, Nora, would feel sad about this. i've seen your youtube on ride videos on bbw, and i can tell you really loved that ride. i really hope (who owns them now?) they dont forgo all living memory of the wolf with whatever goes in its place. A drop tower of any kind doesnt seem in my mind like it will play well with busch scenery. But we still dont know this ride yet, so can only wait, can we?

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

You saw my Youtube videos of the BBW? Cool... I didn't think anyone watched those. Sweet. I had so much fun with the little Wolf puppet around the park... cutest story ever... this little girl saw the wolf puppet in the Festhaus. I was having a drink toasting to the Wolf with my friend when I started joking around and had the puppet try to drink the wine.. I making the puppet grab for the glass of wine and say stuff like "My final wish is to get plastered before they rip me apart..." etc.. etc..

Anyway, about that time a little girl came up beside me and said "Hi Mr. Wolf"- well that was it... my heart melted. I started talking to her in a puppet voice saying "Hi there, are you having fun today?" When she asked me how the puppet was doing I said.. "I am pretty sad because my favorite ride the Big Bad Wolf is going away." She petted the head of the Wolf Puppet and said "It's Ok Mr Wolf." She really was excited and had that whole "little kid magic of not seeing a puppet but a real living thing going on." The German music was playing and she started dancing with the puppet and then she hugged him when the music stopped. She said "I'll miss you Mr. Wolf" when she left... TEARS I TELL YOU! I really started crying it was so sweet. Her parents were there filming it... I have a copy of that somewhere... eh~ to many photos around on my PC. Anyway... it was priceless... and serves as a good reason that BGW should bring Mascots back to the park...

Moving on..

Well, the good news is that two of the trains from the BBW have already been picked up and sent to prospective coaster museums. One of which, I know is in TX. The real sad thing is - I would probably plan my vacation just around seeing the coaster car in all its Wolf-glory.

Also, one side note.. at least one coaster car must be kept on property for at least seven years due to any legal issues that may arise - some statute of limitations or some such lawyer speak. You know.. someone rides a ride.. a year later they have some ailment caused by the ride (or so they say) the coaster car serves as evidence. Sadly, the Drachen Fire car has reached that point and therefore no longer is housed in the park..BOO!! I wanted to sit in that red car once more BGW - BOO!

However, regarding the BBW~~~oh there is a beautiful coaster train somewhere in the park... Anyone up for a scavenger hunt??? :D

OK- going in that direction... I have begged the park to have a mini-museum on property. An interactive museum of sorts..a trivia game, a film that plays, glass cases full of old merchandise, photos, costumes, and signage. My thought is to resurrect old coaster cars and allow folks to sit in them and take photos. In the museum/shop; one can also find a film DVD about the history of the park; soundtracks, a table book full of photos and stuff; and all kinds of vintage-esque keychains, shirts, and toys. I thought they should do this in England; but By the BBW would be a great location as well.

Yes- I have submitted this idea- numerous times... no answer folks. (I can almost hear the game show sound of Wahhh-Wahhh; when you lose).

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

If you want to see something old from the park, walk into the Guest Relations office right inside of the gates. They have an old picture or two.

That's true , they even have a picture of the original Beefeater in front of the Hastings bridge. Nora is right though, they do need something that will let guests see even a small glimpse in the past.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

I when to Wolf last Sat. I found a couple of Sound Speakers hidden behind the lattice in the Queue Not sure what to make of it.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

Just pumping more of that crappy German pop music into Germany, that's all.

RE: Replacement Project For Big Bad Wolf

This is Bush Gardens Ive been coming to this park ever scene i was a little kid. What they really need is a new roller coaster. Kings dominion is in the lead for roller coasters with there new ride Imtimidater 305. people will drive farther just to try new rides. ya 4D rides are cool but people wont go the extra mile for a 4D ride give them a new ride that they can see from that mile away. Biger the better get a taller faster an more adrenalin pumping rides.

Lets Go above the limits of roller coasters an go big. Hyper coasters are the most thrilling you dont know when its coming. lets beet king da cob in the worlds fastest an tallest roller coaster. Lets get that title of the records this is our chance to win that goal people will come all over the world just to ride this one ride. Lets do something new Lets go bigger, bader,an more thrilling rides for us riders. Thank You
