RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

^lol. I want a flyer so bad. It would round out BGE's collection so nicely. But we are getting some intamin mayhem machine. But atleast it's gonna be better than BGT's... It always is... XD

Also, I would say i305 is a success. Nothing wrong with Greying out/ Blacking out on a ride built to push it forces to the extreme. The only fail part about that ride is it's wheels overheating and the trims as a result of that. People STILL black out on Goliath at SFMM, and they trimmed that down so much from when I first rode it.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

After seeing more detailed specs on BGT's I am starting to get on the apprehensive side. There isn't much desire within me to ride i305 after reading all that I have. I would rather spend my time/money riding with a friend in one of his extra300's.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I'm assuming it will be a 2.0 version of Cheetah, and packed with built enviroment like BBW was. A lack of inversions doesn't bother me BBW had none and neither does Apollo. As far as speed goes, it's relative. Mix in some swooping through the woods and diving under, over or through something like the old villiage and I think it could be a great experience. I'm no fan of Intamin, but I don't see why they would build two coasters back to back that are so similar without useing the same company. I agree with you, i305 is a hot mess.

Correct me if I am wrong but the last time that happened we got Drachen.

Wishful thinking alert:
Maybe SWP&E realized how bad they ripped us off so many years ago and now they are going to give BGT a crappy coaster and we'll get a nice, smooth-as-glass, launched B&M. ;)

The glass is always half full, young grasshopper!

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

If you keep up with the mock announcement thread I think you'll be surprised at how close it will be to the actual ride. As far as it goes, it will either be very close, or very far with this b&m thing.

Honestly, I think that they need another intense heavy inverting ride. Something like Alpen. When it comes to inversions, go all in or all out. Don't put a stupid roll in a random spot.

I agree. All of the aspects of the new coaster need to fit the terrain and theme of the ride. Throwing in stuff just to have it will make for a bad ride.

I kinda hope B&M doesn't build the new coaster because I think they're overrated

I have no idea how to respond to this.

Jawohl, I'm kinda sick of B&M and after three consecutive B&M's and one less Arrow, BGW should try something different!

Why try something different when they already have a winning record. Arrow was good in its day, but they went away for a reason (yes, I know they merged). I have to question why they are going with a company with a record of building unreliable rides. If this new coaster has the same bad maintenance record as their past rides, it will not go well for BGW. B&M has proven they make the best and smoothest coasters around and I'd trust them with a new concept before I would other manufacturers.

Arrow Dynamics didn't merge, they went bankrupt and were bought by S&S Power. S&S's main focus is flat rides and only uses Arrow as a subsidiary to manufacture 4th dimension roller coasters. It's quite a shame really; if a company like B&M bought Arrow instead, they could have incorporated some of Arrow's designs in some of theirs and continue to build Arrow parts to improve older Arrow coasters instead of having parks scrap them.

I understand B&M has been famous for top-quality coasters, but I just think buying coasters from different designers gives a park a little more variety. Another company could possibly build the next greatest coaster and gain more business for the park and the company.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

But using the same designer to build a totally different ride design gives the park variety as well. I have to disagree with the conclusion that BGW is getting an Intamin just because BGT is. While this is the obvious conclusion, and quite possibly the most likely, your arguments are actually incorrect. People keep posting that the last three coasters at the Busch parks were sisters, being Griffon and Sheikra, Alp and Montu, and Kumba and DF (half-sisters). Did we forget 1999? The year that the Busch parks went COMPLETELY separate ways: BGW builds a B&M hyper (their first of the design when Intamin was the "obvious" choice, I might add) while BGT builds racing woodies. It is about as different as you can get. Plus, this could be a Kumba/DF situation in which similar rides are built by different designers for certain circumstances.

So let's not try shutting people down with half-way correct arguments.

(Please excuse the rantiness)

What exactly did I say that was "Incorrect"? I didn't conclude who was going to build BGW's new coaster. I was just stating who I wanted to build the coaster. I have absolutely no knowledge of who may be building this ride, I'm not some oracle or psychic.

Btw, this replay may sound angry but I'm not angry.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I would like this track to be at the very least red.

I wasn't addressing you, my bad. In fact, I didn't address anyone in particular. I just want to curb the posts of those who think it is so obvious who will build the ride and show them the facts, that's all. :)

Sorry bro, I thought you were addressing me because you began your post by mentioning my thoughts of "variety".

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I should have separated my thoughts, because the first sentence was a friendly rebuttal to your thought, then the next sentence began the rant. That was my fault. This is what happens when I write late at night.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Don't worry Franco, I do it too.

As for the name, the good news is that it can't get any worse than BGT's coaster unless they call it Wolf Hunt (which they better not...).

Two of you should check your rep. ;)
