RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I feel kind of dumb for asking this, but what are "dark ride elements"?

Maybe this will help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_ride

Basically rides like Curse Of Darkastle and most of the rides in Disney World are Dark Rides.

An idea for what we're talking about here would be something like Thirteen. I'm just using that as an example. Please don't shoot me.

Do we have that interview with Reilly that mentions the dark ride elements? I'd like to see exactly what he said.

If you PM me, I'll explain it to you. However It really isn't publishable video. Some of the answers weren't as direct as we would have liked, but that was unintentional.

That explained it well. Thanks Arrow.

I wouldnt mind a ride like that it looks sweet

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Eh. PLEASE let us not get a ride like 13. I would cry.

It's a kiddie coaster ala Jaguar at Knotts Berry Farm that goes into a building and the track drops.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

More than likely its going to be an Intamin.:( But the company I want to see make the coaster is Mack. Their Blue Fire coaster just looks so freaking sweet!

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Well, I have been scrutinizing all the landmarks and geographical terrain markers. I am "guessing" here- the ride layout may resemble our beloved Wolf to some extent. I think the first outing from the station house (lovingly kept by BGW) will remain the same. The slow path out of the house and around to the "first element" the same.... then... indoor cave-building of some sort- speed -whoosh and the craziness begins. (this is where the "dark elements" begin.

That is my best guess by surrendering markers. (I was a geology minor and worked for construction for seven years- so we will see how far my knowledge goes when all is said and done.) I just wish I could crawl around the back part of the landscape to "snoop" a bit more. Who knows what I may "unearth".. ho ho (I do love puns).

Still; I think it will be all about speed and quick turns and banking... which all sounds familiar to..... you guessed it; the Wolf. Oh BGW- don't let me down!

Long live the BBW!! :D

Did anyone notice the article in the VA Gazette Saturday? It seems more permits have been filed revealing that part if not most of the coaster will be indoors.

I don't like the sound of that, this is supposed to be a roller coaster, not a dark ride. :dodgy:

And what do they mean by "vertical coaster"? :dodgy:

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Don't take everything the Gazette says as certainty. They are reporters, not theme park enthusiasts. It's already been established that the coaster will have dark ride elements. The building also won't be 8 stories high. Part may be (themed tower?), but for the most part, I'd imagine that the coaster will go in and out of the building.

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

I don't think most of it will be indoors. The building will only be 26k sq. ft. For a size reference, Darkastle has a 40k sq ft building. I think as Chris stated it will travel in and out of the building. I'm also interested in the themed bridge...

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

Well everyone keep their eyes peeled on Dec. 8th for that balloon tests

Its funny, all the permit says is there is a 25,300 sq. ft. event building. Thats all. Heres the permit:

also BGW has filed for a France Path Expansion. I'm not sure what this is but heres the permit:

RE: Who will make the "Multi-Launch Coaster" for 2012

how do you have a bridge thats higher than the building that's what I want to know.
