But like how does it work? I always feel like those are just held by a sensor or something and as much air as you get on that thing and if you're a big guy like me, that weight against it always makes me wonder lol
You should watch this video (starting at 4:40). He explains the differences between hydraulic and ratcheting restraints very well.

Is it a hot take to say this has a better layout than velocicoaster. Velocicoaster is clearly better because of the theming/ setting. However pure coaster/ layout Pantheon is better.

I have not been on Velocicoaster yet so I can't compare it to that, all I can give is a thought on Pantheon. But what holds Pantheon back IMO is the same thing that holds back any Hersheypark coaster outside of LR and WR for me: It's too short!

Like you start with the slower launch into the barrel roll, and it feels like more should come after that but you do the helix and slow down. Then you get the launch which is great, the top hat, the elevated outward banked hill which is great, but then it hits that next to last invert and just...that's it.

I know it's far too late now, but after the first parrel roll then went down to the water some more and been extended. Then in the "infield" after the swing launch, I feel like there should be another loop around there to lengthen the ride.

Again without riding Velocicoaster (so unable to speak to elements), the length of it makes it feel like a more complete coaster.

I have a hard time ranking Pantheon, i have it under twisted timbers, i305, alpengeist and dominator as far as local parks. God I love dominator back row

If Pantheon had opened when it was supposed to, before Velocicoaster, and had any amount of anything in the field - it would be rated much higher for a lot of people.

Pantheon coaster experience wise, honestly is still one of the best out there. It’s not perfect but what it has hits GREAT.

Presentation wise? It is the only coaster I can think of where I have to smell animal waste everytime I walk into the queue line. I definitely appreciate when they’re playing themed music in the queue, I enjoy the “harness the speed and strength” spiel on every dispatch. Granted I prefer “now prepare to enjoy the power and speed of the mythical Griffon.”

No shot. Ill be there ASAP if it is. Speaking of pantheon.. when does it typically actually fully re open? Like april or march?
It's been mid March or later the last few years but other also has run till January every prior year so it likely will be earlier this year.

Sorry to derail the thread. I assume this is what you're referencing (screengrabs from the "leaked" animated POV). Were there actual plans/documents that showed something similar to this was planned, and then later cut? Or is this the only lead on that concept? I ask because I still believe that scenery was simply created for purposes of the animation (which was almost certainly not supposed to be made public).

The current, bland station is one thing. But I don't wanna blame the park for 'cutting' this theming/scenery when it may have never been planned by them.
There is no obvious ADA option here. I wonder if that was part of the issue.

There also really wouldn't be much room for a path over there back to the main part of Festa Italia with the Italy employee back area right next to where a path would be (on the side of the bridge you can't see in the animation). A path over there would basically give guests a straight shot view into the Italy back area too even if they did have room for one.

Is the plaza in the animation implying that guests were originally to access Pantheon from San Marco, or was it always meant to be accessed from Festa Italia?

That still kinda begs my question if that San Marco connection was ever seriously discussed/actually planned at the park-level. I just suspect that whoever created the animated POV could have just whipped that up in Blender, knowing it would be some kind of Roman theme, but not knowing 100% how the park planned to connect it to other paths. Or, they could have been instructed by the park to model it that way, I'm not sure.

Bridging over the launch is interesting, but I always thought connecting it right past Marco Polo's and threading the restrooms. Seems like it would have lined up perfectly with having a small ramp/bridge over the low curve and enter under the first inversion, like my ancient mockup below:

Certainly wouldn't have been cheap, but damn it would have been awesome.
