I actually think we've gone too far in the other direction with coaster design - whipping and airtime, mostly staying upright, with rolls being the most popular inversion. Give me a classic loop-de-loop every now and then.
Loops are okay, but not when they're abundant in a layout. One or two of them is fine. What I really need is more banana rolls.

Hot take here

GP overhyped it so much and makes it seem like a crazy good ride. The theming is meh. Airtime is about as good as a CCI. Other than the height and speed it’s nothing special. At the point where we are at strata coasters kind of suck. I would like to see more than a top hat. It really doesn’t have a lot to back up the hype other than the speed and height.

Here's one that's probably a hot take, Boulder Dash. I rode it in 2016 after seeing it hyped up by several enthusiast YouTube channels calling it one of the best wooden coasters in the world, and got shaken around basically the entire ride because it had gotten really rough. That was the first time I was ever disappointed by a roller coaster. I'll have to ride it again now that it's partially retracked, but right now it is my least favorite coaster.

I think Voyage is overhyped

The ride is long and has fun forces, but it feels like the ride is way too huge for a park like HW and there are a lot of rough patches that hinder the ride. The layout itself is pretty relentless, which I know people really enjoy but after the halfway point, it left me pretty tired. I still managed to get a couple rides in, but a you shouldn't have to learn how to ride a coaster to enjoy it. Its still a top tier wood coaster because of the length, but I wouldn't really put it in my top 10 or anything.

I was a bit disappointed in how rough the 3 woodies at HW were. People rave about how smooth the rides are, but KD and SFGAm have smoother wooden coasters than HW does. Hell most parks I've been to have smoother wooden coasters than HW.

I defer to other users as I find these rides entirely dissimilar other than they are both wooden coasters. This is like saying Skyrush is just a shorter Nitro.
For me I find them quite similar although El Toro has quite a few Dead spots

How are they "quite similar?" the only argument I can think of is that "they are both wooden coasters" and if that's your basis alone.........fine I guess, regardless, the trains are different, The Voyage has a steel structure and goes up a hill and then comes back down that hill, also features tunnels. The other has a cable lift, a 76 degree drop, airtime hills that feel unlike any other coaster I've ridden, sits on flat terrain with 0 tunnels, and typically rides much smoother than Voyage. Both made by different engineers and El Toro was laser cut and built like a lego set, while the Voyage was...........not built like a lego set.

Also I don't think either are "overhyped" both are considered two of the best wooden coasters in the world and based on my rides on them, that argument absolutely stands.

Well it's my opinion that they're similar and it's that's arguing that they're not. They are both huge wooden coasters, both have great airtime, both can be a little rough, and both opened on the same year.
