New Summertime Event for 2014 (Americana?!)

Do you think they will be announcing this on pass member preview day?
If so I can imagine it now:
"And the name of the new summertime event is.... Americana!"
The non-regular pass members will give a confused hand-clap, Cody will applaud and shout(no offense to you Cody just making a joke, truthfully I have no idea what your reaction will be), and the rest of us will die a little more inside.

How awesome would it be if they changed the clock tower to the Statue of Liberty for the summer!

They aren't doing the re-theme anymore, so it really wouldn't tie in with the theme. But seriously the statue of liberty in Victorian England will make total sense.[sarcasm]
Why does there even need to be a summer event? I don't get that. People are going to come to the park because it is summer, and theme parks are what most people think of doing in the summer. Events during the spring, fall, and winter I get, because you are trying to drum up extra business. Summer events just seem like overkill. Other than the concerts, I can't see why having an extra summer event would attract more people than were already planning to visit.
That's the million dollar question everyone has been trying to answer since IllumiNights opened, Imaginique. The best answer I've gotten from inside the park is that they're designed to keep people in the park through the end of the day- thus increasing food and merch sales. While it seems like a fair point, you know what would do that plenty well enough on their own? Fireworks. No need for anything else. People love fireworks. You tell people you have fireworks and they'll stay in the gates till you fire them into the sky. No need for American flags, national anthems, giant glowing snails, hipster ants, etc.
Well take a look at every other theme park that has some type of summer celebration/event/show/etc. For whatever reason summer in itself is a holiday. It is a break for kids away from school, many families schedules become more flexible so celebrating the warm summer nights is just something theme parks are trying to capitalize on.
Personally, I can go either way with summer events. I mean on one hand, I think the summer nights are somewhat magical and special and should be celebrated, but on the other hand I can do without them if I had to.
Looking at other parks, do most of them hold special street shows and whole events or is it just one big show, fireworks, or something of the like?

Here in Richmond and surrounding counties, there are serious talks and votes going on about 'year round schooling'. Have any talks of this entered counties surrounding BGW? Here there is actually a law regarding school startup/finishing dates and believe it or not, it's called 'The Kings Dominion Rule'. KD is really the entity fighting these schooling ideas. Yes, the Kings Dominion Law is very much in effect for most of Virginia. Basically stating that Labor Day is the point at which theme parks need to reduce their operation hours.
Year round schooling from what I know is something that has had major talks around the whole Commonwealth of Virginia; however, it hasn't come to fruition yet. With that said, I do think our country as a whole should be pushing for education reform and with the way other countries are doing compared to ours, reform is coming.
I can only imagine how many businesses will be effected by this. I mean theme parks are a major industry that rely on a peak season, without that peak season, the schedule will need to change drastically.

At the very least there are plans for hamlet theming. With London Rocks seeing so much budget turmoil though, I'm certainly not ready to make any solid predictions of what we will actually see.
