RE: Killarney Kommotion (2013 to Present)

I was told by a cast member that all of the singing was supposed to be them in the beginning, then they changed it to the original artists last minute.

To be honest the show just looks like a last second conglomeration of ideas. You have an Irish folk band, a stomp in a construction site, and then the top-40 music that is reminiscent of Jack is Back. Each show would be fine in its own right if it didn't fight with the other two styles, which is why this show is so bad in my mind. There's 3 themes to the show that fight each other and the show as a whole suffers, badly.

I'd be perfectly fine if it was an Irish Folk performance. I'd be perfectly fine if it was a stomp. I wouldn't be fine if it was just top 40 songs and dances, but it'd probably be better than all three combined.

I can confirm that the park does sometimes "plant" entertainment members in a performance to generate more buzz from others. Last year, in Fiends, they had several employees sitting in the front rows the first week. One of them actually had a script of the show with one part highlighted. The part highlighted had a major pacing issue. "Dr. Felix Friekenstein" comes out of nowhere at the end of the song, and the music abruptly stops, and people didn't know that that was the time to applaud. It was awkward, needless to say. However, once they did that a few times, some return visitors got used to applauding at those parts, (eliminating the need for employees) and the show ran much more smoothly. It's a simple trick, people won't feel stupid for clapping if other people around them or clapping.
I will admit though, that all performers know what it's like not to get applauded at the right moment. They are more likely to feel sorry for the cast and applaud. You'd be amazed at the kind of tricks they pull in show biz. You would think they're trying to run a casino or something.

So I decided to make a video series highlighting the cultural aspecs of this show.

Warning: Viewer Discretion is advised for people under 16 because children should not be exposed to this show.

I also want to thank Chickenking for letting me use his pics, and Nic Cage for being just an awful actor.

That video...

And you wonder why the park doesnt like us?

Also, there are a few discrepancies... But, I digress.

That show is... Wow. Reminds me of like if Mushroomhead and Crossbreed decided to do a bunch of top 40 and don construction worker gear.

I hate to admit it, but I try my best not to mention BGWFans when I talk to park management. I actually got Carl Lum's attention once, but as soon as I said I frequently visit "a certain park fansite"(wasn't any more specific), you should have seen his face change.:p

From some comments above, I'm getting the feeling that this show has recorded singing and recorded music. Is this true? Is any of the audio coming from the live performers?

Looking at the video the entire irish folk performance isn't pre-recorded. Everything else has some sort of recorded effect thrown in there.

To be fair, KK kind of pushed the threshold of my tolerance of what the park can get away with. I hate Jack, but the park could get away with it because the theme was suspended for HoS. Call me Maybe in July is terrible.

I know some (if not all) of the instrumentalists are actually playing their instruments in the beginning along with a backup track for instruments that they couldn't fit on the stage. After they switch to pop music, it's pretty much all prerecorded. They may move their lips, or even sing, but they aren't being played over the mic. system. It's kind of like how the dancers in Celtic Fyre are free to sing if they can, but the don't have microphones. Honestly, I couldn't care less about them doing this, but playing a prerecorded clap track is unacceptable. This is a stage show, not a sitcom.

Right, the show is just so disjointed and "EHRMEGERD PARTY!!" that it clashes with the rest of the park and Illuminights as a whole.
"EHRMEGERD PARTY!!"
"EHRMEGERD PARTY!!"
"EHRMEGERD PARTY!!"

This is such a poignant and piercingly accurate commentary on my generation and the state of the youth in America. I feel ashamed. :dodgy:

I love that at 10:10 in the original video, the guy next to Zachary is gently clapping his water bottle... because that performance didn't deserve an actual full-on tradition hand clap...

CT 2013 thread
Interestingly, Cody posted a link on the CT thread that BGW is hiring "Experienced Male Dancers," among other positions.
As I was watching KK, I kept thinking that after having to be in this atrocity... I mean, "show", they all quit. :p:D

For the record, that guy and the guy standing to his right are both Entertainment staff.
