RE: Killarney Kommotion (2013 to Present)
I can confirm that the park does sometimes "plant" entertainment members in a performance to generate more buzz from others. Last year, in Fiends, they had several employees sitting in the front rows the first week. One of them actually had a script of the show with one part highlighted. The part highlighted had a major pacing issue. "Dr. Felix Friekenstein" comes out of nowhere at the end of the song, and the music abruptly stops, and people didn't know that that was the time to applaud. It was awkward, needless to say. However, once they did that a few times, some return visitors got used to applauding at those parts, (eliminating the need for employees) and the show ran much more smoothly. It's a simple trick, people won't feel stupid for clapping if other people around them or clapping.
I will admit though, that all performers know what it's like not to get applauded at the right moment. They are more likely to feel sorry for the cast and applaud. You'd be amazed at the kind of tricks they pull in show biz. You would think they're trying to run a casino or something.
