The whole ride to me looks old and in need of a retrack/ station remodel or to be removed completely. Have you seen the inside of the station lately, between the old lighting and the 70s style speakers to make ride announcements. To me it has really been overlooked. Just my thoughts...

The main reason I don't like this ride is because the turns are brutally rough. Straight parts are tolerable but if you're not bracing for the turns, you'll end up with bruised ribs (especially that first turn). Still runs better than the Carowinds version (smoother turns but much slower ride).

For the record I also enjoy it. I will add that there is a big difference in it depending on how full the train is. Not to get off track but I have found Grizzly to be worse then Hurler.
According to those who attended Delirium's media day, Hurler will be closed the entire 2016 season for maintenance. This is the only information the park has confirmed at this time.
Wow, thats a lot of maintenance there doing. Unless by maintenance they super ultra brand new RMC with 10 inversions that is painted Pat Jones(general manager) red!

OR, is the "maintenance" going to be performed by a backhoe and a cable to pull it down section by section?
** IF ** Kings Dominion is getting a major coaster for 2017, Hurler's location would be a perfect spot for a station/lift hill/transfer table/final brake run. If the ride is coming down, say starting in June, I can see why KD chose to not have any off-season maintenance done to Hurler's track/structure/trains. Why bother to spend money/time on something that is coming down in 2 months?
Should be an interesting season for 2017 attraction rumors.
I don't want to throw out any wild speculations, but remember that Son of Beast stood closed for "maintenance" for more than a full season. This might not be the same case here, but history repeats itself...
I fear for rebel yell if hurler is the prospect for a major coaster station. Just sayin. You could fit a pretty large hyper, or whatever, in the span between those two.
^ As Cedar Fair proved at Carowinds... They don't care about classic racers. I'm hoping that if anything happens to Hurler, Rebel Yell is spared.

With a steel coaster, you have the flexibility to take it over and around most any existing structure. The placement of the queue/station area in Hurlers location does not necessarily mean it has to go along side of or in the Rebel Yell's place.
Anyway, it seems that Hurler will either be reborn in the future as an overhauled wood coaster or as a big pile of match sticks. Given its low ridership, I'm leaning toward it saying goodbye.
Thunder Road was not in better shape before it closed. It was rather rough, especially for a coaster that was just renovated from the ground up not long ago. Plus I heard it cost the park too much to run, not to mention the low ridership for the ride.

Just my opinion, but Thunder Road was a better ride than Rebel Yell. We rode it twice after Fury, so this is based on how it felt recently.
