You would miss one house. Is that such a problem?

yes, it would be .

Then you need to acknowledge that there's things that you're not old enough for yet.

People under 16 can physically drive; however, everyone has to wait till they're 16 to do it. Why? Because someone thought that by age 16, teenagers would have the maturity level needed to handle a car safely. Some people (like you) may have the maturity level needed for an 18+ house, but the majority does not. Generalizations have to be made in order to keep anything orderly.

Yeah, there's really no way to quantify "maturity level." Age is all we got. There's also no way to card a 13 year old, so...

As for not being able to get into ONE house ruining your entire time, my suggestion would be to just not go at all then.

True. Swift hit the nail on the head with what I was trying to say. A few immature.. actually a ton… kids will kill it for the rest.

im pretty sure busch gardens wouldnt put anything to nasty into a nasty park since it is a family friendly park. i dont wanna get that half way scare that they would put in if they had a age limit. i want the full one, i like scary things and i wanna get the same scare 18 year olds have.

And a year ago I wanted a drink at a restaurant. The same drink the big kids got. Guess I wasn't old enough and had to cope though.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I got married 2 years before I was able to legally :)P ) drink. Draw whatever conclusions you can about "maturity level" from that.

That being said, an 18+ house would have to be really intense with a lot of adult themes. You'd want people coming out of it going "yeah, I don't want my 16 year old in that."

But WHAT would b the point of a age group house ?

To prevent parents from bringing in children that are obviously too young to be there. I think just making 2 categories would work. An all-age house with low scares and a house for teens and older (which would probably be the scariest house that BGW would even consider).

If BGW was to consider a separately ticketed house like "Alone" at BGT and make that an adult-only house then they could limit those attending by only selling it to adults. ID might would be required to prove age and those who bought this special ticket would be informed to have ID with them for entry.

So everyone's talking about age limits on haunted houses. I personally think that it is up to the parent's discretion. Each parent knows what their child can handle. There will always be people that will ruin something for you, so just enjoy what you have. This year is shaping up to be completely amazing!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

But I would also love to go in the house alone. I just think that busch should say ' no kids after 6:00 and if parents let kids stay , than its on the parents plate' I just don't want that semiscary bullcrap if they do age groups.

No they do not know what is best. The majority of parents are selfish fools who care nothing about their child's needs. Spend time observing the houses and you will see. Just as it has been stated here several times.

Teens and adults? Teens are the biggest problem.

Not really,
I met some really rude/immature adults saying "suck this" and "suck that" at scare actors.
Always gonna be that one person that ruins everything, no matter how old you are. people are just immature and age has nothing to do with it.

Well I've been going for 5 years now and although there are stupid parents in the world, I have never had a problem with anyone in the parks during that time. People just automatically try to find things wrong with EVERYTHING!

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I'm the one that actually tell my parents to go to howloscream, they don't care for it at all. I love scary things and being scared.

And maybe you could handle it. The problem is that they can't give you a 20 question exam before you enter the house. Age is the only option.

They've been doing that for years now and it doesn't work. I don't care about the selfish parents or even their kids, for that matter- I just want to enjoy the houses.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I am against the age limit idea as well. I know 12 year olds that have the mental courage to walk through these mazes when there are 19 year olds I know that are scared even to be in the park... its just something that would cause another problem. Now, if they did an adults-only club like tampa, I'd be fine with that, give them what they want. But don't restrict everyone who doesn't fit the parameters because a few of them mess stuff up!

agreed. Yeah and adult only thing would be cool, but age limits .. no.

RE: Howl-O-Scream 2011

I'm agains any and all "adult" theming of Busch Gardens Williamsburg. If you want to go PG-13 on a few things, where you don't let *little* kids in, then fine. But under no circumstances would I want an "adults only" experience at the park. It's not a strip club, guys. It's a family theme park. The Halloween stuff can push the envelope a little, but I would honestly loose some respect for the place if it had an "adult" attraction.

Not all that dissimilar from Disney World and Pleasure Island, really. That place was a disgrace and I'm glad they've gotten rid of that, too.

Pleasure Island was a cash cow but a hinderance for families going from West Side to Market Place and vice versa. There are other plans on the table for Disney to reintroduce "some" clubs.

Oyea so adult attraction means it has to be a strip club? LOL
