They could clear some tables and put in a stage either in the seating area behind Hungry Hippo, or next to the Coca-Cola Oasis maybe?

And no show for the Grande Bandstand this year?

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but Maze of Madness's front facade was up today. I didn't get any pictures, but it looked good.

I'm interested in the acrobatic show in Safari Village. I imagine the stage has to be a decent size. Where could they put it is my question?

The "safari amphitheater" that was located at the park for several years occupied that large seating area near Anaconda. I think they'll put it in that or in front of it. Hopefully they have seats.

I might as well point out that the Venetians that walk on International Street won't be returning this year. If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about, here's a picture of one of them:

I wonder why they decided to pull the plug on these guys & if they will be replaced?

Reece, I saw that too. I don't know why they scrapped the Venetians, but I guess they just decided it was time for new characters. Kind of a shame because I always liked them, but who knows? The characters they choose to replace them could become just as beloved as they were.

International Street is proving to be rather confusing this year. So many questions about the area.

How will they set up the Overlord's Resurrection with the planter?

What's happening with the new Haunt dinner event?

What will they do with the floral clock this fall?

Will we see any truth in the 30-foot spider rumor?

What happened to the Venetians?

Why isn't there a show on the Grande Bandstand this year?

Goodness, they've left us a lot to wonder about in this area.

After a little thinking I figured out how to make Overlord's  Resurrection work with the new planter.

As you can tell from my high quality drawing it would pretty much be the stage reversed. There would be stairs on the front along with a scary throne on the top. There would still also be the pyro and props for the show. Only difference would be the Overlord comes from the front.

How will they set up the Overlord's Resurrection with the planter?

I am beginning to wonder if the Overlord's Resurrection will be on the Intl. Street Bandstand Stage this year. The front plaza was cramped and the walkways going toward the Eiffel Tower were bottle-necked as the scaractors and visitors were all heading back to the rest of the park after the skit was performed.

With the Overload's Resurrection on the Intl. Street Bandstand, there is more room for folks to watch. And, after it is over, there are 3 ways to exit the area, around each side of the tower and under it.

What's happening with the new Haunt dinner event?

Maybe an announcement will be made in September. With the new chef on board, the park might offer the meal over more than just one weekend. Course, if Bistro 75 stays open, the chef is going to be stretched out between cooking for both venues located on opposite sides of International Street

What will they do with the floral clock this fall?

Why does anything have to be done to the clock? Maybe a light Halloween overlay? ... shrug

Will we see any truth in the 30-foot spider rumor?

Since this is not coming from the park, I guess we will find out when visiting the park between now and when Haunt starts.

What happened to the Venetians?

I guess time for a change. Else, the park wants to make sure the mazes/scare-zones are fully staffed. With the park being down one maze for 2014 and if the Venetians are not coming back, I assume the park wants the focus on fully staffing what is left.

Why isn't there a show on the Grande Bandstand this year?

See above.

Goodness, they've left us a lot to wonder about in this area.

We will have to see when the event starts. Will be interesting to see if any of the existing mazes and/or scare-zones have gotten a makeover or tweaked in any way.

I wonder if this slight downsizing of the event is due to not getting enough Haunt employees to properly staff all the attractions or because the park chain is tightening their belt due to this season not meeting their financial expectations.

The Haunt site does say Overlord is still located at the Front Gate; however, I still don't think the park is done tweaking the site yet. For instance, I noticed PrimEvil is still listed as taking place in the "Congo."

That is a pretty smart theory, mwhinva. (I like that kind of thinking!) I can certainly see them moving Overlord to the Bandstand, as that makes more than enough sense.

While the location worked fine on Fridays when the show went off as people entered the park, the majority of guests at the park for Haunt on Saturdays and Sundays probably missed the show as they were not likely at the front gate and were already in the park. Maybe the park will let guests into all of International Street before 7 so the show is always well seen by patrons. Seems legit.

Thanks for the logical thinking!

^Joe, marketing is literally the biggest joke right now and I'm sure that that mistake will never be fixed. They know nothing about the park.

As for the Overlord show, I'd like to point out the type of structure that Kings Island uses:

I believe this is located to the left of the Kings Island sign but I'm not sure. I'm definitely expecting them to do something like this and build a structure that's away from the sign.

I'm glad somebody else noticed this. Even social media is an absolute joke. They do nothing to encourage people to come to the park. It's terrible. :(

I would elaborate more on this topic, but I don't want to go off topic. The fact that Kings Dominion is doing really great things right now and they don't have the marketing to back it up is a shame.

Back on topic - In front of MoM, they are in fact installing the man in an electric chair animatronic that was in front of the original MoM in front of the new MoM. Looks like they're using the exact same set that they used when it was in Ironworx last year. I think Evan has some pictures

Sorry to burst your bubble Reece but the show is all night. It's called the Undertaker and all he does is talk to guest. Which means it doesn't really attract a crowd.

(Wishes the Overlord would do this.)
As for moving  the Overlord of Friendliness and Assistance Overlord to the Band Stand I could see that. If they did I would love to see them incorporate the Eiffel Tower.
