Well, we all know full-year operation will be coming within the next three years, as well as the resort and whatever gateway country and train station.

Ideal five year plan.

2014 - New show in the Globe, scrap Illuminights, general park improvements
2015 - 40th anniversary! Major Festa overhaul, anchor attraction (dark ride or coaster) added, plus new tacky-free summer event/nighttime show
2016 - General park improvements
2017 - General park improvements
2018 - New country (Spain finally), new coaster added, new show plus family rides

Notes
2015 and 2018 can be interchangeable. I kinda feel the park needs to fix what's already broken (Festa) before focusing on expanding new countries.

Replace EITA with something better. You could put that as an addition in one of those slowdown years between major attractions.

Resort hotel and possible new train stop can be added in any one of those years. I'm feeling more 2018 than anything since a new country is gonna be back there anyway.

Full year ops can be implemented at any time. I have a feeling it would be weekends only during the winter slow period like Magic Mountain. I won't be holding my breath for full year ops at this point, knowing how whacked out Virginia's weather can be, but it's possible.

I really love the idea of replacing EITA with a coaster as well as Zach's idea of a Pompeii expansion. I'd still say focus on Festa first, but the park should consider doing something like that to balance out the crowds between Oktoberfest and San Marco/Festa.

Contrary to what a few people were saying about Sunday crowds, it really wasn't that busy compared to other days this past year. There were plenty of people walking around, but the rides were pretty much dead.

- Lemme know what you guys think.

As far as I know this planis still what they intend to do; however I think because of the IPO this plan is pushed back by a year or two.

2012
- Verbolten opens (Fact)
- Announcement of Country and/or Major dark ride (rumor)
- Country OR Major dark ride begins construction (rumor)
2013 (Pushed to 2014 or 2015)
- Country OR Major ride opens (rumor)
- Announcement of resort (rumor)
- Resort construction begins (rumor)
2014 (Pushed to 2015 or 2016)
- Resort opens (Fact-ish)*
- Announcement of another Major dark ride (rumor)
- Construction of Major dark ride beings (rumor)
2015 (Pushed to 2016 or 2017)
- Country OR Major dark ride opens (rumor)

With Full Year Operations being implemented once the resort opens, if not sooner. From what I understand, out of al the parks in SWPE, BGW has the least full-time staff. Even Sesame Place has more full time staff.

Obviously plans change, things are taken off and put on the table all the time, so these plans MAY have changed, but from what I've heard this plan was just put on hold due to the IPO.

When we get a new country, it'd come as soon as 2015. I definitely don't see them adding it next year. If they had plans on opening it next year, we'd already see some kind of work going on (even if it's just permits and whatnot). I'm definitely looking more towards netdvn's plan with a country being added in 2018 and having 2015 be the year Festa gets a refresh.

I thought the only real things we know for sure about the next few years are:

-Celtic Fyre will be replaced in the next few seasons
-A new show will be going in the Globe
-Monster stomp will be coming back

I'm not trying to say you don't know what you're talking about PR, but I don't understand where you're getting all this new country/dark ride/coaster/resorts rumors from. It seems to me a lot of that is speculation and wishful thinking (mostly from us on this forum).

I don't know anything other than what I read up here though, so you may be right.

To clarify Pandora, originally that was the plan after the addition of Verbolten, from what sources had told me and others have confirmed they heard similar reports. Now, with the IPO involved things got kind of slow and plans were put on hold. I have yet to hear anything has really changed so I assume the plan is the same, they are just getting back on track now. However, Like I said earlier, these plans may and probably will change and the time frame is obviously not accurate to the point. However the exact words I heard was by 2016 we should have everything I listed, but that was before the IPO got involved. So not really sure if plans changed, if their the same but I am going with they are the same and they are getting back on track until someone can give me more definite answers to the future.

I doubt that this will happen considering that it is probably the best show in the park and still attracts a huge crowd. I agree it will be replaced soon but it won't be replaced too soon. I think it will have atleast 3-4 more years here. And I really don't want it to be replaced because who knows what show Scott puts in there. It could be an absolute train wreck or a decent one, but I don't want to take the chance anyway.

This reflects pretty much exactly what I've heard.

I'll toss something else in here too: I've heard Europe in the Air's time is running out quickly. A EitA replacement would count as one of those fabled darkrides. Additionally, year-round ops stuff keeps coming up over and over again from many different places. I'm basically 100% sure the park is trying to make it work.

The park has gotten on a very strict one-show-a-year schedule. We got TiO back this year & a new Entwined, Globe gets its show in 2014, then either Mix it Up or Celtic Fyre are up for replacement. Regardless of which goes first, I imagine they'll go back-to-back. I'd be willing to bet money Celtic Fyre won't be around come 2016.

Yea I guess you could be right, but I don't understand why they would be on a one show a year schedule. Personally I don't like that idea. I think if a show is good a still attracts a decent crowd, then it should stay there until the audience it attracts starts to go down. And don't say since Entwined attracts a good crowd then it should stay, because I said it has to be a Decent Show(IMO). We'll see how long that plan lasts because by the time Scott gets to replace Celtic Fyre the show he puts in there will most likely be a lot worse then Celtic Fyre. Now I'm not saying it will be worse, but who knows he might actually put a decent one in there, but I highly doubt it. And by the time everyone complains about the removal of Celtic Fyre, and how the show they replaced it with is horrible. SWPE will probably be sick of all the complaints and fire or change Scott's position. And if the new person is smart he will replace shows when they need to, but keep the shows that are decent, and replace them only when they need to, not just because of a pattern that they need to keep.

Honestly, as far as Abbeystone Theater goes, all the shows there have always been very good and tend to draw the large crowds. If only we had one or two more dedicated theaters like Abbeystone elsewhere. There isn't anything wrong with dinner and a show, but I think they should focus on developing shows with a good storyline in a theater where you are supposed to pay attention rather than eat and occasionally look up to see dancing and singing.

And when you really think of it the park lacks actual full theaters with dedicated shows. We have what, 3 or 4 major shows? I would like 5 or 6 personally. I think 3 is just not enough. I can understand three major shows along with street performers around every corner, but since we have very little street performers I expect a lot more shows.

Just to put it out there, how much time do we think Europe in the Air has left exactly? Not only do I hope, but I would actually, realistically assume that it has only a year or two more before it follows Corkscrew Hill's fate. Just think of how easily they could create something to actually draw people to Ireland, which has been feeling kind of vacant lately. I hope they plan on something to restore Ireland to its former glory and get rid of an attraction that draws hardly anyone over there (by the way, I said hardly, Party Rocker  ) Thoughts?
