Me on Jungle Limits: Flight of Fear next year.
We're at least a minority of 2Might be in the minority, but I hope we don’t loose the sci-fi theme. Jungle X-Pedition is cool and all but at this rate it’s going to swallow up over half the coasters in the park. 6 coasters (4 officially, and 2 most likely coming when they retheme Backlot and update/replace Anaconda) out of 10 (not counting kiddie coasters) just feels excessive for a whole land.
I’d rather see us get a version of what KI got and had it be a separate mini land. It also feels weird to change I305 to pantherian while we have anaconda and backlot likely unchanged for the next season. I get it’s due to the rights over the name, but they could have just kept the project 305 until they were ready…
It's been many years since I last rode it. Isn't the ride just pitch black once launched? Some elements like rock & roller coaster had would be nice....I like the SF theme, but they need to spruce it up a lot. The station now looks good, but the queue stuff looks dilapidated.
They’ve got some colored spotlights inside but that’s about it.It's been many years since I last rode it. Isn't the ride just pitch black once launched? Some elements like rock & roller coaster had would be nice....
Part of its nostalgia, but the other aspect is it’s a theme you don’t see in the area for theme parks.Am I missing something? Is FOF's sci-fi theme really that great? The "alien" theme begins and ends with a fiberglass UFO prop in the queue, that little plexiglass alien spaceship window before the station, and some old Haunt alien costumes slapped onto some department store mannequins. Everything else (the facade, the trains, the tubes in the station, etc.) could easily be modified to fit a different theme.
It's like suggesting that Twisted Timbers should never be rethemed because of the truck in the queue and the suspended tractor before the station.
I certainly can't fault someone for liking the alien theme and wanting it to stay, but I feel like we're getting a little ahead of ourselves in talking up how extensive FOF's alien theme is.
The current ride theming legitimately creates a sense of angst and nervousness, particularly for those who have never ridden it before. Not sure that's worth messing with too much.Am I missing something? Is FOF's sci-fi theme really that great? It's not that I think what is there is good - it isn't for the most part - it's that I like aliens on earth as a theme. They need to improve it a whole hell of a lot, though. Also I always liked the disappearing riders. So whatever it ends up as, somehow that still needs to make sense for it.Am I missing something? Is FOF's sci-fi theme really that great? Totally agree with you on this. FOF uses white noise and creates a sense of apprehension better than pretty much any other ride I can think of.The current ride theming legitimately creates a sense of angst and nervousness, particularly for those who have never ridden it before. I think it could blend well with the explanation that they found it swallowed by strange vines and plant life. Imagine the vines of verbolten but everywhere. Maybe some exploration teams went missing and the search for them found this base. Maybe make it so some of the plant life shudders and moves like something is in there, something that escaped. Then you can really lean into that for Halloween Haunt for a scare zone. It can work with Jungle X but I’d rather see a total facelift for anaconda or backlot over flight of fear. Especially since it took three years to even get pantherian and Rapterra going. So, for me whether or not the alien theming is good is largely beside the point. I want the entire area to fit in the Jungle-X universe as part of a section-wide theme.
