Not shocked. The park is too small and barely makes enough money season to season as is. If restaurants and other local amenities have been any indication, business will be down across the board for a while and Conneaut (and some other parks) could stand to lose even more money by opening.

I think the worst part about all this is that Disney is going to have to be really creative in order to host their DJ dance parties in the park. It always was the highlight of every trip to be walking through the parks and hear party rock anthem blaring, hulu-hoops lying on the ground unused, and some very strange crowd interaction to people who speed up and avoid eye-contact as they pass by. With social distancing it’s going to be rather challenging to keep this true gem of the Disney Parks experience in place.

The last time I went (~5 years) I got to witness an extremely white DJ teaching an audience of mostly extremely white children how to "whip nay nay".

It was awesome...

Awesomely bad.

@WDWRLD Just because there will be resorts open, doesn't mean they have to have anything for them. They can visit Disney Springs, along with other local attractions. Some people like to just take a relaxing vacation away from home and not stress over going to parks.

@Connor The only time the parks have DJ dance parties is for private events such as when the cheerleader and dance groups rent out the parks with the exception being Villains After Hours. Quite simply, those private events can be cancelled or they can be modified so there is no DJ. And, if I am not mistaken, all of the Villains After Hours have been cancelled this year.

I’ve seen DJs in both Tomorrowland and Animal Kingdom during the normal summer season.

No screaming on coasters please!

Low key....I like it. I can't tell you how many times I've been on a coaster with someone that does the 'fake scream' the entire time.

A family is fight SF over the rules as nd refunds.

The article makes the case not about masks but refunds - can an entity hold onto money paid for services to be rendered without actually rendering said services?

The only way I think that works is if there's a legally binding agreement that this money works like a non-refundable deposit. But I think we already beat that horse to death earlier so... ?‍♂️

Theres likely some type of clause in there. Almost irresponsible to not to. And I’ll admit my earlier contention to comments of it hurting parks was some about the difficulty, but also the seemingly isolation of SEAS as if they were the only place doing these things.

To be fair, I'm only speculating as I have not reviewed the terms for member agreements to SF as I generally have no reason to, also I'm not a legal expert so I have no idea if what they may have in the agreement is actually legally binding either.

I am responding to the 'great mask debate' over here because it really isn't just about BGW anymore.

@rswashdc You specifically mentioned Disney Springs isn't the same as the parks. Personally, I would strongly disagree with you on this. Disney Springs is just like any other park. It has shops, eateries, entertainment, and even has attractions. The only real difference is that Disney Springs has multiple entry/exit points and has less attractions.

You also went on to say that it would generate bad PR and negative perceptions for the companies for a strict policy. Personally, I don't believe this to be true. People want to feel safe and secure. If masks help people feel safe and secure from a virus that can be passed around through coughing and the like, then if they say it is required, that would probably make people feel safe.

You have to take into account the surveys that have been done and show that 60% of Americans do not feel safe from this virus. They don't want to go out and open things up. If someone refuses to wear a mask, that person is now seen as a risk to others. Companies who require masks can be seen as companies who care about their customers and are trying to implement ways to prevent the spread.

Either way this is a polarizing hot topic for many. Masks have been worn extensively in other places like China with poor air quality. If these people can wear masks on a regular basis even through the heat and humidity that comes in during the rainy and monsoon seasons, then why can't an American do the same? What makes people in Central Florida so much more sensitive than those in China?

I guess my point is, I don't like the masks. I hate them in fact. But if they are required, I'm not going to fight it because I am no different than people who have resulted to wearing masks on a daily basis in other countries. I will just have to learn to adjust and adapt.
