I like Apollo more than any coaster at KD so therefore KD has no real coasters. Nothing wrong with that thinking.

El Toro is better than Mystic Timbers and therefore Kings Island also has no legit Woodies.
One possiblity seem to me is that they could build a shoot the chuye ride in the area where the Dinosaurs were. Te long lines in summer for Shenandoah Lumber and White Water Canyon seen to support another water ride being possible. The location by the infrastructure for to exciting water rides an in small dip also serm to be good. And it seems like a good match for the parks focus on children and families that we have seen lately. Just sn idea to throw out.
I wouldn't go for a Shoot the Chutes, especially considering that they had one and Busch Gardens Williamsburg still has one. Maybe a hybrid water coaster like Journey to Atlantis would work.
Orlando's iteration of JTA might be too big/heavily themed for KD. SWSA's would be a joke, even for KD. SWSD's would be just right. I would say that theirs is more like a serious roller coaster that just so happens to have water elements. That type of ride is still unique enough in the United States, and would probably be a perfect fit for KD.

Legit, slang for legitimate, conforming to the rules; legal. And I'm pretty sure that all of KD's wooden coasters are legit. Are they long enough? No. Are they tall enough? No. But legit none the less.
I, for one, think we should see the long form birth certificates for KD's coasters.

It seemed like Cesar Fair was totally on board the Dark Ride train and there were rumors about a large Dark Ride going into Cedar Piont next and then they all just fizzled out. I'm curious why that is and if there is any intention on going back and adding more in the future.
I do wonder what happened with the Trio-Tech rides. We saw Wonder Mountain's Guardian, Voyage to the Iron Reef, and then... squat.
Cedar Fair also seems to have abandoned revitalizing the former Paramount Parks' Action Theater buildings with new motion-simulator theater rides, which I thought for sure would have been destined to KD by now.
Plants vs. Zombies at Carowinds takes the same approach as the Trio-Tech rides by combining a motion simulation theater with interactive graphics to make one giant ride-able video game. Like the Trio-Tech rides, reviews have been mixed at best because the gameplay is too difficult, and it is frustrating to keep losing your onscreen target in the sea of the other 30+ people playing at the same time.
Cedar Fair's only dark ride-esque attraction that has gotten almost universally positive reviews is Mass Effect: New Earth at California's Great America. It uses new, plushy motion seats (not the old Action Theater seats) with smooth movements in a non-interactive ride. It uses 4K LED screens (instead of the traditional projection) that actually wrap around the sides of the theater to create a 3D "holographic" effect. It also uses a live actor as the "captain" who guides riders throughout the journey, creating a unique experience each time.
It would seem that if a new dark ride were headed to KD, a Mass Effect type of attraction would be the best candidate. It would fit nicely into the Action Theater, it avoids the frustration of the interactive technology that has bogged down Cedar Fair's other dark rides, and has enough unique surprises to set it apart from other simulators in the region.

TIL that Six Flags ordered special trains from B&M to be able to run Batman backwards.
Cedar Fair should order some special backwards PTCs to put on Rebel Yell and Racer when they hit their respective 50th anniversaries. Racer backwards was originally for the 20th anniversary, but Cedar Fair had to put them back forwards because turning regular PTCs around was beating up the track. Granted, this would be quite far off.
If we can't have the power of HyperSonic or the finesse of the Big Bad Wolf ever again, reverse Rebel Yell would be more than a consolation prize.

I’d like KD to bring back Yogi’s Cave. I, personally, love fun houses like Kennywood’s Noah’s Ark. In fact, for me the best parts of Circo Sinestro are the disorientation rooms. A year-round attraction with modern fun house features would be fun and provide air conditioning.
in a world where KD was themed to Dreamworks, i think it’d be really cool if Volcano was themed to that cave where all the dragons brought food in the first HTTYD movie

Huh? GCIs usually excel in laterals. Maybe it's the Millennium Flyers stapling me, but I don't get much airtime compared to older (non-out-and-back) coasters that still use PTC trains.pickles said:
