Even though you are probably joking, that's not a bad idea! You can see the top from most points in the park, and if they sent the carriage up chock full of lights and then dropped it at midnight, that would be pretty effective in my opinion. And hey, it's another opportunity for them to sell booze! And lots of it probably.
There are actually a lot of things they could do fairly quickly and easily to have a New Years Eve event, and people are always looking for good venues and parties.
From a Christmastown email:

Any guesses or wish lists?
Personally, I'm hoping for a special on the premium PhotoKey, like they had last year on Black Friday.
But, I'm guessing it'll be $12 days, like last year.

Last I heard, just Verbolten again. Which doesn't make sense to me because Tempesto is brand new, and Alpengeist has the closest theme to Christmas. But whatever...Pretzel Kaiser said:
Train maintenance has always been the problem. Verbolten can easily run without one of its trains with a relatively small(-ish) capacity hit. Running four trains on Verbolten vs running two trains on a B&M is a massive difference.
I don't, but part of me was hoping Apollo would get a shot this year. I'd totally go there once to do Apollo in the cold.
Oh wells...there are still lots of great shows, decorations and lights to see. And hopefully Frosty will be there too.
I know it would NEVER happen but I wish they'd run Loch Ness during Christmas Town. I had a pass to KD this past season so it's been over a year since my last ride on Nessy and I am well into withdrawal.
