Has anyone heard if they are doing the $12 nights again? As we all have said before, that was a horrible idea and ruined any fun from over crowding. Reminded me of when CT first started and only part of the park was open. But hey on the bright side, only 6 weeks and 1 day till Christmastown!

Ok I'm ready for Christmas Town! Can't wait!

Remember how the Der Market Place had more local vendors and more variety. There used to be a lady who sold candy and had this amazing HOT peanut brittle made with habanero peppers. That made me want to stop and shop to support local vendors. I wish they would bring that back.

The park began demanding more and more from the vendors to the point where it was simply no longer profitable for them to sell there. Much of what's left feels very... artificial. I'd love to see more vendors not only in Oktoberfest but potentially other places around the park as well- maybe with a bit of variation in cost to the vender to display there- lower trafficked areas (Heatherdowns?) cost less.

That's what I figured happened. And you're right, it's a very bland experience for Octoberfest. A pricing for certain area's would be a great tool to get more vendors involved but the chances of that happening are about as slim as a snow storm in July.

Yes, that was announced in the 'Twas that Night On Ice press release. I like the idea of filling in that weekend, it never made much sense to me to cut the event off on the 31st when there's still a couple days after that before schools go back into session.

Does this open up the possibility of finally having a New Years Event? Just curious - I've always seen it as a lost opportunity. It obviously would be a risk the first year, however if word got around that the event was successful...

It seems to me that if there were a specific New Years Eve event, more people might be interested in going to that park that night. NYE events are very popular at the parks in Orlando.

I don't think any conclusions can be drawn from the past, as the park has never offered or marketed dedicated New Years activities before that might entice people to come.

Carytown in RVA spent 7 grand on an illuminated ball and drew over 6000 people the first year and 10,000 the second year. The event became too much for the police to handle and they shut it down. Maybe all BGW needs is to borrow the RVA ball :)
