I enjoyed Miracles very much, but I understand the cold was a problem for both the dancers and the viewers. I've read intimations on this site that the new show in the Globe will be something unexpected, perhaps not in a good way. While I didn't mind the frigid temperatures, I did mind the frequent cancellations for unsafe stage conditions. I am hoping the new show will be a worthy replacement, otherwise I wish they had simply moved the show.

But isn't Deck the Halls older? Either way Miracles seems to be a better production, not to mention it's cast has been pretty on point the past few years. (Just my opinion)

the stage is a nightmare when it gets wet....

But that finale when they backlight the tree. DON'T YOU TAKE MIRACLES AWAY FROM ME

(There was a mildly funny gif with this but the server isn't enjoying it right now)

I'd enjoy seeing that gif, if the server is more compliant today.

Moment's passed. It was just Kristin Wiig crying hysterically.

I've tried to watch Miracles at least three times and have never been able to make it through the entire show. I guess I could see why people like it but it was never my family's thing. Glad to see something new is replacing it.

My sisters and I are sending our parents to Christmas Town for their anniversary, which is on NYE, but they are going for 2/3 nights. For that time of year, do we need to plan on getting them QQ? If we schedule a tour for them, which one is the best? Any special things anyone would suggest they do? Thanks

As long as you remember to avoid that Saturday and Sunday after Christmas, you'll be fine in terms of crowds. NYE crowds are very low (think Sunday in December low) so lines won't be an issue.

As for tours, I recall the only tours the park provides during CT are the backstage show tours, the penguin encounter tours, and Verbolten insider.

As for extras, all the shows were great last year. I'd recommend all of them. Penguins are nice but only if the wait isn't longer than 20 minutes. Don't forget to take in the lights during the peak of the event (sundown to 8-ish).

You said they were planning on going on NYE for a few days, keep in mind NYE is their last day open, so I'd plan the trip a few days prior if their planning multiple days to include NYE.

I've done the penguin tour, and I thought it was really cool! Mostly for the penguin encounter at the end, which is an experience that doesn't come along all that often. Also cool if your parents are interested in animal welfare or the logistics of "touring" the penguins.

I still would love to know more about this...show.
Tell me tell me, is it called Christmas Rocks?!
Enough about this show

Let's talk about the real star of Christmas Town: The Peppermint Fudge Hot Chocolate. Am I the only one who totally adores that stuff? The first thing I'll do opening night of CT is buy one of those reusable mugs and get some.

Well, being 17, I'll settle for my peppermint fudge. Do they have apple cider? I've never even looked. Might have to break away this year and try it if they do

Good hot cider, yes.

The peppermint fudge is a little to sticky sweet for my tastes, and it never seems fully blended. I say that as someone who eats Phish Food from the tub and always gets a Cauldron Cake at IOA.

Something to really pay attention here is the red fine print of the Christmas Town Pass.

You can not purchase the pass at the park until November 21. You must purchase it online prior to then. This means you are forced to pay for the $4.99 service fee online unless you wait until day one to get your Christmas Town Pass.

This is one of the worst things they can do that really does upset me. It is a terrible business practice to offer something online for the say $25, and then charge a $4.99 fee and not offer it at the park. It basically is a punishment towards people who like to purchase their stuff in advance. Instead of paying $25, you are really paying $29.99, yay you saved $2.01.

I don't mind paying for Christmas Town, but this is just insulting.

I got my CT pass a couple of days ago. $25 total. No tax, no service fee.
