It may of just been me, but I always felt it was bumpy since it opened. I ride it whenever I can, and I've figured out that the back and front are the smoothest parts of the train, and the middle is mind-boggling bumpy.:-/

I've never had a bumpy ride on Verbolten, including at HOS. And I always ride in the back.

This might be why.

But the middle is just horrible.:dodgy:

Back row is usually rougher on coasters. Verbolten has pretty much had that bumpy rattle since it opened. You can really feel it on the first turn going into the building and the last few turns, but its pretty smooth otherwise.

Can't speak for Christmas Town, but during HOS, the rattle wasn't too bad outside the red train.

Something to keep in mind, there are Coke ads in Polar Pathway this year by the games Pick-A-Present and Polar Plunge. Also the Coke Market is decked out in a bunch of vintage Coke signage and ads.

Artist Formerly Known As JuniorBGWfan28: You know I was supporting your theory? Couldn’t tell from the way you responded...

To kinda confirm what netdvn says (not that he really needs any additional credibility on this issue) I had heard that the Red Train was rough, but I haven't ridden on it all year, so I can't speak from experience.

I have two questions about CT 2013 (specifically in Aquitaine) this year:

1) Are the face characters are as frightening at night as the pictures lead me to believe? To me, they make it look scarier than it did at HOS...

2) Previously the theme was just "icy." How did they manage to make the penguin exhibit fit into the new "Twelve Days of Christmas" theme?

1- Her Majesty is gorgeous and very funny, as well as Five Rings King and Jester.

2- Penguins... I dunno. The ladies told us there were nine of them. Nine ladies dancing? ;)

You forgot about the lost verse

13 penguin swimmming.... :D

Ice Palace fits Aquitaine visually if that matters. Also, though Aquitaine is clearly themed after the 12 days of Christmas, I'm willing to bet you money that 90% of guests don't pick up on it. If I was to remove the "Oooh, pretty lights..." aspect of Aquitaine and try to evaluate it objectively as a themed area, it would fall flat on its face. Basically, BGW should be glad everyone just likes Christmas lights.

Despite Aquitaine's new theme, it still gives me the frozen, icy vibe it always has. Perhaps it is all the white cool colors they use. I mean they don't use any reds or oranges, but mostly white, blue, and pink which are very cold colors. Which is very odd. You take this one hamlet and you set it on fire during HOS and then you freeze if for CT. It really does go through such extreme changes.

I think they ended up meshing the prior theme with the current theme, which works. It looks nice. I think the detail is almost overlooked because of the fact people just like staring at lights and penguins. For example, at first glance walking through I actually thought all those trees were identical except for one which had a bunch of rings on it, that is until I looked closer and saw each tree had a meaning.

12 days of Christmas? I thought it was something about the number 50? :p

I have been trying to put my finger on what that London Rocks tree reminds me of. It just came to me. It is like the themed Christmas trees in those Ye Olde Christmas Shoppes. You know the ones you only visit in the winter, but somehow stay open year round?

Yes, Scott picked it up from Christmas Mouse down the road. His second "go to" place after Oriental Trading.

I'm gonna have to go on record and say that his go-to is TARGET. I have run into him twice there. At least it's local. :p

EDIT:

I frequent and enjoy Target's offerings as well. This is not meant to be a diss on the store or anyone's shopping habits.

As an avid Target shopper, I am not comfortable with this line of reasoning. And yes, my office is Target-fabulous during the holidays. It is a sparkly, hot pink and green wonderland. (The guys LOVE it!)

...which means I probably just made CK's point for him...

While riding the early train on opening day, we saw the strangest thing while passing through Aquitaine. I really didn't know what to think at first. But if you enjoyed the street antics of the Fright Feast crew in Killarney, as well as what was going on in San Marco with the Pirate photo op, then you'll probably enjoy these wonderful performers. Check it out!!

I was trying to figure out that too the other night until I figured out it's 5 golden rings. So it's a 5 with a gold ring. It's a confusing way of doing it.
