I thought I'd take the time to share my 1st CT experience before it becomes faded memory. 1st off, CT 2013 was my 1st visit to BGW in a long time. A very long time. Put it this way, the last time I was there, Drachen Fire was there too! This event was SO much fun for my family and I. It was my 1st ride on Verbolten. I was not aware of the 'drop' in any way shape or form. I would imagine that most people reading this knew about the 'drop' before boarding. So I guess you can imagine how surprised I was. The overall atmosphere of CT was just great! Everybody, including employees, had a cheerful sense of pride to be there.
The first thing we did was ride what my Daughter called 'the flying buckets'

This gave me my first look at Griffon! I was sad to learn that I would not be riding it. Moving on though, we soon found the hot chocolate and the train! Which leads me to my 'humorous' portion of the story.
While riding the train with our hot chocolate, fudge, and extremely excited 3 year old. We begin to cross the first truss. The Christmas lights are flashing, the happy music is playing, and all is good. Until I lifted my daughter up out of her 'seated position' to look down the Rhine. It was like a screeching halt to everything festive! The music stopped, the lights quit flashing, the 'normal' lights came on, and a deep stern voice was telling me what I had done wrong (good feeling gone).. After this voice told me 3 differently worded versions of the rule I had broke, everything came back on and was cheerful again. Whoops
We saw all of the shows except for Miracles. I never was much of a show guy, but I certainly enjoyed the top notch shows at CT. I wont go into details about what I liked and didn't like. I'll just say that I liked WAY more than I didn't like. My daughter especially liked 'deck the halls' because it had Frosty the Snowman in it!
After a couple visits to CT, which my family and I thoroughly enjoyed, We got BGW season passes for 2014! While the changes that I saw in this place were completely SHOCKING to me, having not been in 15 years, I look forward to experiencing what it has become. And for the record, I thought Drachen Fire was wicked!
