Well tonight was nice, as almost any finale night for Christmas Town. However, for me this night was overtaken by complete sadness, that the way I saw Banbury Cross tonight, may never be the same.:(

yep. I had the same thought walking out.

I absolutely LOVE this wreath ...

I know, I snapped a picture too! Very cool wreath. I loved most of the shop decorations this year, with the exception of half of Emerald Isle's decorations. Did anybody photograph every shop's decorations, so we could look and compare them? *Slowly glances over at Zachary*

interesting fact. PR is wrong again. You're missing 6, but who cares right? Smh.

The park did file a permit to install 28 generators. The permit number is A-131450, the permit was filed 10-4-13. It states "INSTALLATION OF 28 GENERATORS, TEMPORARY LIGHTING, TEMPORARY WIRING FOR 2013 CHRISTMASTOWN EVENT." https://epermit.jamescitycountyva.gov/Permits/cc_permit_search.aspx

Those 28 generators could have been specifically for the thousands of Christmas trees located throughout the parks landscaping while your other 6 could have been used for specific attractions, like Polar Pathway. If that does not solve that question, then maybe the park already had 6 generators previously installed.

Can't believe I never posted this. Here is a video of the "English Brass Band" that cannot be missed. If you've had your fill of Christmas tunes, skip to 5:50 to witness the coolest ditty & strut through the streets of Banbury Cross. Watch all the way to the end for some interesting conversation with good information. Keep an eye out for a special cameo (maybe you know aaaaaaannnd maybe you don't).

Hi- not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I just received an e-mail from Busch Gardens with a link leading to a survey that was pretty much exclusively about Christmas Town, and I was just wondering if others have taken the survey/how they responded/what they made of it!

I thought it was interesting that so many of the questions focused on advertising since this is something many people on this forum complained about this past season (not seeing the event/the park in general being advertised enough).  I also thought it was interesting that they asked about if you would prefer to pay more for a season pass and have Christmas Town included.  In general it seems like the park is giving a lot of thought as to how to take this event to the next level, which I think is very much needed to compete with the other holiday events in the area!

It's a lot of questions, I just went through it.  It's about 30-35 marketing questions mainly about CT.  Basically it's a detailed "rate your experience at BG CT", and they asked about other events in the area and if you had seen/heard the CT marketing anywhere. Just marketing stuff, but I would say they were very good and targeted questions.  As ThemostHappy said, there was also a "Would you pay more for you season pass if CT was included" OR "Would you like the option to pay more for your season pay to include CT" which I though was an interesting question as well.

They also asked you to watch this commercial:

and then asked a bunch a questions about your thought on the commercial.

I got it, too, and just took the survey.

About halfway through it occurred to me to capture the questions, but by then it was too late.  I thought the commercial was great.  (I don't watch much broadcast TV, so I'd never seen it before.) Though I don't have kids, and therefore am not the target audience for this particular commercial, I appreciate when a company makes an effort to make their commercials entertaining/humorous.

The survey itself was designed well, and was not as leading as some marketing surveys I've seen.  The one exception to this was the question about how you would prefer to pay for Christmas Town, the choices being a) pay more for your pass and have CT included b) pay for a CT pass as an add-on and get a pass members discount c) pay for single admission tickets.  I suppose that the fourth option of d) 'get a CT pass included with my platinum pass without a price hike' wasn't included because they know that EVERYONE would chose that option, if it were available.

I indicated that I'd rather have the option of paying for the CT pass as an add-on.  If personal circumstances arose that might preclude me from attending Christmas Town, I don't want to have prepaid for something I might not use.

The advertising is very clever, and rememberable, if all you had was a Santa(like a mall). In this case, It has very little to do with CT and BGW and doesn't showcase anything about the park....even the scenes of them in the trees is not a normal place at the park.  They could have hit a home run if instead of at home, if the kid asked those questions while walking through the park, sitting at the shows, eating at the festhaus....or even walking through the park at different times of the year(spring, summer, HOS).  Then not only are you showcasing the park itself, but also Santa and CT.
