Darn. the kid is afraid of Santa, so we were hoping to get photos with Frosty or the Gingerbreads for our Christmas cards this year. :( I'll keep my hopes up for the weekend though.

One thing Busch ought to do is offer photo CDs with their photo ops. I often don't buy the photos because I can take a picture with my own camera and then print out a dozen copies at Walgreens for my enormous extended family. If they had a CD with the copyright permissions on them (like the mall Santas often do) then I'd buy theirs in a heartbeart.

Last year at the photo op in Aquataine we were offered the chance to buy A CD. Don't know if that will be offered anywhere this year. This was in the space used for Griffon Gifts if I recall correctly. Last year the penguin characters were in that space.

I think there will be a Gingerbread photo op area across from Dasher's Diner, in the same spot as last year. I noticed, on Sunday (11-24), that area was decorated and set up as if it will be a photo op spot. I think because of the cold and low crowd, there wasn't anyone in it on Sunday.

Did you happen to notice if the Frosty photo area was set up? If I remember, last year that was near Dasher's Diner also.

No frosty because that is where the Coke Market is.

I really wish that when entering the park there were characters like Frosty and the Gingerbread men walking around taking photos with people.

That way- everyone looks all nice; instead of frostbitten, tired, and wind blown like when you take photos later in the day.

When I first saw the big themed tree in France, I saw the 50 and thought maybe it was a salute to the upcoming SeaWorld 50th Anniversary Celebration, but then I realized it was 5 Golden Rings. The trees are beautiful, but I wish the themed elements, like the 5 golden rings, two turtle doves, etc. were lit better on the trees to convey what the true theme is.

Probably Saturday, because some people still have to work this Friday. However, you never know it could be Friday, but I doubt it. Both of them are still going to be overwhelmingly crowded, so it really doesn't make a difference.

I'm predicting equal crowds both days and maybe even Friday being the busier of the two. I imagine Saturday will empty out quicker than Friday though which could be a definite perk of picking Saturday. My current plans put me there on Saturday. We'll see what happens.

So guess mixed feelings on CT this year, I heard Tampas is much better. They expanded areas like the snow area. Wish could of did that here.

Well hopefully stuff improves, but everyone have a great Turkey day, hey Nic what you think of my tree, I'm so tired if lights this what I do.

Also, I heard lot of bad reviews for CT at BGW, but yes things were kinda rushed, but also comes with lot of TMs calling out during set up.

My impression last year was that CT was better in Williamsburg. Aside from its being the first year Tampa had CT, it felt to me as if the need to keep BGT open as a normal park during the day interfered with the CT theming. The decorations were too diffuse, and it lacked cohesion.

Maybe it will be better this year, but I still think Williamsburg has an advantage, because they are only open for CT and can devote the entire park to the theme.

Thanks for the thoughts about this weekend! I think I will probably go Saturday, if for no other reason than I believe in barricading myself inside my house on Black Friday. Plus Saturday is supposed to be a teeny bit warmer.

SV: love the tree.

As a precaution, anyone considering heading to the park this weekend should either plan accordingly or hit the park on Sunday. Black Friday and Thanksgiving Saturday crowds tend to be pretty out of control as everyone's on holiday that weekend and everyone seems to think it's a good idea to visit Busch after shopping.

As a protip, the park hits its peak during the middle of the event, so get all the signature stuff out of the way at opening and closing.

True that I heard it's really busy here this weekend for CT. I also believe I seen there are several bus groups for Black Friday, with some outlets, and pottery shopping thing, along with a CT trip. Not real sure but pretty sure I seen it posted.

Nic when you come to the park hit me up, I will escape and at least say hello or walk with you for a bit.

I also agree with Nic, BGW is only open for CT so they can devote the park just to the event. This being tampas second year, last year was unique but lacked the atmosphere. I heard and seen this year at Tampa is much better with an expanded snow area, with the tubing area and snow ball fight game and so on. I guess I will see because I will be in Tampa next weekend to do some follow up working.

What do you guys think of Aquatine/France area? I m one who really enjoys it especially with the 12 days of Christmas characters. I really don't like Holiday Hills to much for some reason walking thru there, I feel like at anytime over the speakers they are gonna blare,"You'll shoot your eye out". I really wish they would have Alpengeist open during CT, it would be one of the only wintertime themed rides. But also know they don't have budget and some trains are being worked on. With that everyone have a safe and fun holiday weekend, and hope to see you guys this weekend.

I'm gonna have some deep-fried turkey today, then hit the park tomorrow and Saturday. Call me crazy. As usual, feel free to say HI. You know where the contact info is located.

France is definitely turning into my hangout spot for CT. Must catch the Brass Band!!

Question about the CT Pass. I had a Platinum Pass, but that expired in October. Before it expired I went ahead and redeemed my CT Pass and printed out the paper voucher for it. Would this situation cause any problems with my CT Pass that I went ahead and purchased before my Platinum Pass expired. (I let my Platinum Pass Expire because I am moving come January)

Nah, it should work as expected but you won't be able to get your discount, premium parking, or employee gate privileges. If a problem does arise, it should be an easy thing to explain- especially now that the CT Pass is available to everyone at the same price.
