I am looking forward to CT. To be able to spend time with some friends, BGW Family and Kitty, and those we met here on the site will be a wonderful magical weekend. Hope to meet more of you all. :D

I hope that this year they'll beef up the penguin display, but I always wish that. It would be nice if they had some other arctic animals like they did the first(?) year it was open, or if the little guys had better dry habitats. I have no complaints with the aquarium habitat, though. It's always a joy to watch them swim around and interact with the guests!

BTW, if you haven't done the penguin tour? DO IT. It's not a hugely fancy tour, although they do talk about transporting and caring for the penguins if you care about that sort of thing. The big draw is that you get to pet the penguins at the end, which is pretty neat, imo.

For those who don't look closely at the shrubbery, Christmas trees have popped up out of no where along the train tracks, in Oktoberfest, and in the WIld Reserve. In fact, there is a bright light pointed at one in the Wild Reserve, and there is another one that basically has a ghost lying on it.

If you thought Christmas lights looked tacky, these trees if you notice them are terrible. How will they keep them alive for 2 months?

You'd be surprised how long they keep outside. It's when they are indoors they dry up. But you can't blame them for putting up trees now when CT starts a week early this year.

Christmas trees last forever. I still have mine in my backyard from last year  It's not alive or green any longer, but I remember it lasted for months before it died and I tossed it on the ole wood pile...

Whether it's HOS or CT, I look forward to my Guinness's at Grogan's and the shows at Festhaus (minus the Octoberfest show, which I can't stand with a passion)

I love the train at CT, it's like something out of a fairytale. Yes, it's cold, but like Clark Griswold said, it's all part of the experience honey....I mean really, you're only sitting there to go around the park, you're not taking it to DC or something. Suck it up! :dodgy:

I wish they would still be smoking Turkey Legs outside down at trappers, I think I may have eaten 10 turkeys during HOS alone....

As far as coasters go, and I say this every year, why, oh why, they wouldn't keep open the only snow themed coaster they have, during a winter themed event, just makes me shake my head. :(

It's all about demand. And right now more people are going to want to ride Verbolten over Alpengiest. Especially when this is such a family friendly event.

Looking at their site today, and forgive me if this has already been said, Verbolten is the only coaster listed on BG CT site, so it looks like another CT year without Alpengeist :(

I was told the years Alpengeist and Griffon ran for CT, the rides would have to shut down early every night due to the cold temps. Verbolten can run in colder temperatures plus it's still the hot ticket ride so it stays open.

They didn't shut down every night during Christmastown but only when the outdoor temps reached a certain low. I rode both of them near park closing the times they were able to stay open. However I did check the weather before I went to the park to make sure the daytime temps were mild so it wouldn't be too cold at night. That way I knew the coasters would most likely be running.

I think the park should add more lights to the train. It is a nice ride, and I like it, it's just sometimes you go A LONG TIME without any lights at all. I'm not saying deck the train with boughs of holly, Fallalalalalalala. (;)) Justbadd more lights along the way. :)

I don't think you could decorate the train any more than they do. I always thought it was done very nicely. It would be hard to decorate the entire way along the train path, I think it's more about the train than riding it for a light view/show.

I've been hopeful that the stretch between Festa Station and Caribou Station and the short area between Caribou Station and Aquitaine would get a similar treatment to what you see at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Though that would make the train more of an attraction which they seem against since the early HoS Train Ride and now the removal of Flight of Lights.

They could do it like one of the last years of the train's decorations for HoS.

all it was, was lights and some music. It still stopped at all the stations. But, it did add something extra to the ride.

Flight of Lights was marketed as a non-stop trip around the park. Which doesn't work well for the skyride.

As long as you don't add a special name to the attraction and don't make it non-stop, people won't care and the ride won't have a ridiculous line.

So I purchased my CT pass today while the deal was still going. I noticed when I printed out my voucher it says "This voucher must be redeemed for a park ticket.

So do we have to get a park ticket every time we go or are they going to give us a separate pass just for CT? This would be nice to know prior to getting there so we're not standing in some line we don't want to be in....:s

Just go to the self-serve ticket machines, and scan your ticket, and it will print you out a real ticket that you can use each time. You do not need to redeem it every time, just once.

Not really ever a line for them (Located at the top of the entrance to the left of the new fountain

I'm sure everyone who is a Pass Member with a CT Pass knows this, but just to say it out loud and proud...

Make sure to bring your regular Pass with your CT Pass for parking entrance, discounts, etc.
A ticketing booth person passed this along to me, and hopefully to you as well. :)

By the way, I am the only one who is annoyed that my CT Pass is the generic new logo instead of what is pictured on the web site?

I wish it had the Christmas Town logo on it but I understand why. Ticket stock comes in a long row of a couple hundred tickets and since the pass was printed during the regular season, the normal ticket stock is in the printer. They would have to either have two separate printers loaded with different stock or replace the tickets every time and loading tickets into a Boca printer is a HUGE pain (I did it for several years and I still would screw it up everytime).

With that said...I still miss the hard passes....

In Christmas Towns past they have even kept the same ticket stock from the main season, they only show the custom, special ticket stock in advertising, it doesn't really exist.
