I figured out how France will sparkle, all while keeping with the new "gardens" emphasis!

According to the Washington Post, glow-in-the dark winter plants have been created!

Hunkered down in a converted shipping container stationed in a San Francisco parking lot, three young entrepreneurs are tinkering with the DNA of ordinary plants in the hopes of being able to mass produce a variety that glows in the dark.

If all goes well, their start-up company will begin mailing out the first batch of seeds next spring to the 8,000 donors across the country who helped them raise nearly $500,000 in a phenomenally successful online fundraising campaign through Kickstarter.

The distribution of an estimated 600,000 seeds would be, by far, the largest release of a synthetically engineered organism to the general public. The recipients will be able to plant the seeds in any standard flower pot and, with enough light and water, grow a glowing version of a small winter annual with oval-shaped leaves that is related to mustard.

Likewise. On our side it doesn't look like the information was updated, it's simply cosmetic changes. Looking at the rides list, would it be safe to say Verbolten is still the coaster of choice this year? Link

Yes, but I think it would be smart to open up another one to help keep crowds off the paths. Alpengeist would be my choice, since it goes with the winterie theme, plus I wasn't all that cold when I rode it in 2011.?(I think that was the year)

Because it is cool :p and BGW is trying to make Christmas Town more it more cultural rather than throw in whatever they can. I applaud their cultural decor.

I'm not knocking anything the park does for Christmastown, it's actually my favorite time at the park. I do think they could do a cool snow attraction though, maybe in festhaus park.

A Hot Beverage Mug appears in the CT Pass Members area:

Guess it was too much to hope for free refills with a slightly more expensive mug this year like HOS. They are gonna make a killin' on hot chocolate. CT Unlimited Pass + Free Hot Chocolate Refills would've been awesome!!

Ok, so CK asked me on another thread how the old CT VIP tour was different from the CT insider tour, and I brought the conversation here.

Insider is just the Penguin experience and reserved seating for shows and Santa.
The VIP Tour was like finding a Golden Ticket to the park.

I can't upload an attachment, because my computer is a dinosaur, but here's a link to the old ticket site, which oddly enough, is still up... and which, by the way, was WAY better and easier to use than the new GP ticket site. It sucks!

http://commerce.4adventure.com/estore/scripts/skins/ctw/ChristmasTowntours.aspx

In short, you got 3 days of admission, and you chose one of those days for the tour. That day, you met up with a tour guide, who took you to experience the Penguin encounter before the park opened, and then after that... did WHATEVER YOU WANTED. You could eat as much as you wanted that day for free. 2 hour wait for Flight of Lights?? Not for you!! Front of the line access and reserved seating for everything. The best part was that your guide carried a camera to take pictures of anything you wanted. A month or so later, we received a CD chock-full of awesome pictures. Was it pricey? Yes. But SO worth it. Besides, my husband made back our money with the whole unlimited food thing. :p

I cannot possibly say enough good things about this tour. It was incredible! It was probably my favorite Christmas memory to date.

Annnnndddd..... it's gone. Like everything else good about the park. Gone, or going... I'm really starting to get depressed about it...
Oh well, there's still Disney.. :-/

Mach Tower is broken. Europe in the Air has been closed with no defined date if reopening...if. Maybe that is part of the issue.

Also, the Flight of Lights isn't mentioned in this particular add. Was it 2011 that you got that?

VIP Tour does sound awesome!! :)

Yes, it was 2011, but this ad is from last year, 2012. It has certain rides on the ad, but basically, your tour guide will accommodate you for whatever rides you want. Like I said, it's like the golden ticket.. like having the keys to the park, and all-access pass, if you will. This is only on the day you have a tour guide, they are your key to the park.

Yes, it was awesome. So, naturally, they did away with it.. :dodgy:

By the way, refillable mugs are on the GP site, too. And passmembers save $.57!!!! Sweeet! :p :D

They did a quick red ribbon overlay on the site (think it happened a while ago) but can I just say that the green new Busch logo on the red background looks fantastic...

Its the little things,

I guess this should go in this thread. Do they still sell the Christmastown cold drink souvenir cup? I know they've sold it in years past and I can't remember if they were selling it last year. Any info. Would be very helpful.

I bought one Christmas Town 2012, though it was the same cold cup they sold prior Christmas Towns, so if you have one from before it hasn't changed at all.

Who knows about 2013.

I never even knew there was a Christmas Town cold cup until I saw it during this past summer. They look pretty nice. If only their hot cups were larger.

Or at least give us free soda refills. Cold soda cant be that popular that time of year.

Maybe somewhere in this thread the Skyride has been covered. Since I don't want to reread all 19 pages...

Am I correct that there will be no Flight of Lights this year? I don't see it listed on the site. It was so pretty, I will be very bummed, if we can't see the park from the Skyride this year.
