Does anybody happen to know, or care to guess, if the Mix It Up canning will affect Christmastown shows at all?

(Pun intended.) :p

Mix It Up doesn't have a sister show for Christmas Town. The only show I could see it possibly making ripples to is Gloria as they have a full live orchestra for that show, and that is most of their musicians right there.

Yes, sorry about that, I got my shows mixed up. But if worse comes to worse, they will probably just play pre-recorded tracks.

I called this back in February:

Click link for interesting discussion: NO 50% DISCOUNT ON CT TICKETS!!

Now it is reality.
Thanks Haberdasher1973 for believing'. :)

Perhaps. But the other side of this is all of the money they won't be making off of all the crap I'll buy when I'm there. A case can be made that it balances out as far as the bottom line on the cash expended, but I would prefer to control where I spend my money. Food & drink is more important to me than admission.

However, they can still make this OK with me, IF..., the mysterious CT Fun Card or whatever materializes for pass holders.

I am willing to wait and see. They could announce a CT fun ticket, or run another special, depending on HOS revenues. Who knows...

I wonder how many Passmembers actually go more than once? I know I can't, but obviously I am not the standard, since I am not local.

I read "full live orchestra" and immediately yearned for the days of Starlight Orchestra (and StarFRIGHT Orchestra). Could you imagine a big band Christmas show there? HEAVEN.

*sigh*
We won't see that many musicians again any time soon...

Interesting...
I assumed that the website had been updated when I saw CK's post with the picture of prices. However, when I got home to check it out, I found that the CT website hasn't changed a bit. There was no link to buy tickets. (I am not a passholder. :( *sniff*)
I happened to save the link from buying tickets last year (the URL has something like "commerce4adventure" in it). When I went there, all the tickets were still "unavailable". I tried the mobile site on my phone, and it would allow me to buy a single day, or 3-day now, if I wanted. But here's where it gets really interesting... If you click on the links from the main site to book a "Vacation Package," you can choose what hotel you want to stay at, and which ticket you'd like to purchase. There are three options. One day, three day, and

"Christmas Town Unlimited Fun Ticket."

Of course, nothing is official. But I really like what I see. :)
Sorry I couldn't get a picture and had to explain it, my camera on my phone's not working, and my computer hates me.

You're tuggin' at my heartstrings!! :( A Christmas big band would be so very neat.

"We can't logically criticize them for poor money management "

Why not, its managements bad choices that are making a mess of the park these days. Didnt someone say the cost of dinosaur for HOS was somthing like 20,000 dollars. I think thats a waste, there are other ways to cut cost other than shutting down rides and closing shows.

The cost of passes has gone up, the cost of food has gone up. If they keep taking things away from guest's the guest's will stop attending the park and it will close for sure.

Management needs to pull their heads out of where ever they are and take a look around, it is their decisions that are harming the park in a negative way. I fear if they dont make some drastic changes they are doomed to fail. Perhaps thats what they want to do.

OK,
"To be fair, they clearly need the money. We can't logically criticize them for poor money management and then complain when they make a decision to increase revenues"

They need the money because of very bad manangement decisions, I feel as if the only reason the top brass are cutting cost's are because the stock holders are demanding the highest return on their investment possible.

As I posted before there are many other ways to cut cost at the park. I think most of the patrons are people who have been to the park before and return for several reasons that they enjoy. Once you remove these reasons for us all to enjoy the park, there is little reason to return. If we dont return and spend money then that park looses money. I'd be willing to bet that pass holders spend more money over the course of a season than do one day or weekend park guests. BGW needs to keep their pass holders happy and returning to make a profit.

I am a huge fan of the park as are my family but sadly its clear to see they are slashing cost by shutting down shows, closing rides, increasing food cost, increasing entry cost and not paying for lanscapers to maintain the park to its normal beautiful form.

I honestly dont think the park should expect us to absort the cost of bad management choices and have less to do while at the park to make up profits. JMO
