Christmas Town 2010

I'm going either opening weekend like last year OR the 1st or 2nd weekend in December. I'm planning on going twice this year!

So, how bout the Behind The Thrills folks posted on BGW's wall on facebook and said the site had been updated! I freaked out and checked it immediately...no such luck.

Apparently they were just REALLY late and missed the first update. lol.
 
The official website was updated, and though many many rumors and big hints were dropped about it, and it was announced as the Christmas Town expansion....there was nothing mentioned on the site about Italy being part of Christmas Town this year. Could be that the site isn't finished...but let's remember press releases were sent out with the name of the new coaster "Cheetaka" the night before, and the next day Cheetah Hunt was announced. Could things have changed?

Um, at there 2 year expansion press conference they specifically stated that Italy WILL be open and completely decorated with rides and all, the whole country. Italy most likely isn't on the map yet or the rides listed because auditions for the new italian show aren't finished yet.

I understand that part. I was pointing out that it WILL be open. Nothing has changed. So the first part, stating the site is not finished would be correct.
 
Yes, I read your post in its entirety and I was just saying that Italy will be included in this year's Christmas Town. Why am I making this claim? Well, because it was hinted about at the end of last year's Christmas Town and announced (along with a specific number of lights for said area) at the recent announcement. Also, this has no comparison to Cheetah Hunt. Why? Because signs weren't put up around BGT saying "Come back in 2011 to ride Cheetaka!" and BGT's GM didn't get up on stage in front of passmembers and say "In 2011 we'll adding Cheetaka to our list of amazing coasters and rides!"
