Actually, no it is NOT a glitch. Your Membership does NOT expire.
I dealt with this, as well. I had meant to post about what I learned.
The bottom line is that if you are on EZPay, you should continue to go month to month with your existing Membership, unless you specifically cancel it. In other words, as before, once you meet your 12 month commitment, if you are on EZPay, you will automatically go to month to month after that.
From what the customer service representative said, it may also be true that if you paid in full for a year, you might also be able to go month to month after the first 12 months. I am not sure about that, however.
Now here comes the but.
I am paying for three Memberships. Two were purchased in during the initial sale. One was purchased a few months later. Yesterday, before I called they each had a different status:
Membership A: Expired
Membership B: Expiring Soon
Membership C: Active
My EZPay had gone through for March and was listed as pending for April, both for the full amount. So, I was still being charged for all three Memberships, but one was Expired and one was listed as Expiring Soon.
I called and was told that all three should continue on EZPay, as long as I remained in good standing. I also learned that once you fulfill your initial 12-month contract, your pass will always be listed as "Expiring Soon," presumably because it will expire as soon as you stop paying.
I have no idea what had happened to the one that was listed as "Expired," but she went into the system and fixed it.
I also confirmed that my Original Premier Membership (which was a Platinum equivalent, vice the two-park pass that is called that now) still has the same benefits as when I purchased it last year. So, in theory, I am now paying month to month, until BGW chooses to sunset my Membership type and/or price, and will still have the original Platinum-like benefits (11 parks, etc).
In short, as we expected, you do NOT have to purchase a new Membership after 12 months. You can choose to go month to month on EZPay (hypothetically) without doing anything. I would check your on-line dashboard just case, however; since the system seems a bit wonky.
