I wonder why the Saturday the 17th doesn't show as either closed or sold out for reservations. There's just nothing at all.

Show times wouldn't interfere with the Terrortory.
Perhaps due to this?

I really do hope that a theoretical "Holiday Hideaway" sees larger revisions than "Haunted Hideaway" did. I love the main season show as much as the next guy, but I can only justify returning to see the same show a few times a year. They could probably get me twice per run if they did wide-ranging show overhauls for each major event though.

Strongly agreed.

Seeing different characters/family members changes the pace and feel of the show only slightly. Since there's no notable differences between each show (aside from some effects occasionally not being used/working?) even just a little seasonal/occasional changes could go a long way. The actors' ad-libbing and improv skills go quite a long way to making each visit unique though!

The new holiday menu is posted. It is ok, but I was honestly hoping for at least one warm beverage:

Cocktail Flight

Spiked Winter Sangria
This festive red sangria combines the tartness of fresh cranberry juice and crisp apple cider with the warmth of Crown Royal™ Regal Apple Whiskey and is filled to the brim with apple & orange slices and whole cranberries.

Mrs. Claus’ Naughty Punch
Mrs. C’s favorite Christmas punch, but with a kick. A blend of cranberry and pomegranate juices enhanced with hibiscus syrup and the bright, fresh agave flavor of smooth Milagro® Silver Tequila. Then a fresh lime wedge and pomegranate seeds garnish the glass.

Espresso Martini
Shaken over ice, steeped cold brew café breve is perfectly embellished with Kahlúa® and the sweet richness of crème de cacao then poured into a frosted martini glass, giving to a delectable dessert drink topped with velvety foam, cocoa powder and three coffee beans.

Mocktail Flight

Spiced Apple Cider
A sensational seasonal cider comprised of spiced apple and orange slices, a blend of cinnamon, clove, ginger and brown sugar with a dried blood orange wheel on the rim.

Mrs. Claus’ Nice List
Crafted by Mrs. C herself, this flavorful medley of cranberry and pomegranate juices and sweet hibiscus syrup is completed with a fresh lime wedge garnish and a sprinkle of edible sugar glitter that is guaranteed to make your spirits bright.

Mochaccino
A deliciously crafted cold brew café breve garnished with rich chocolate syrup and topped off with a dollop of homemade whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder.

Wine Flight

Chilled Glühwein
A holiday red wine classic, The Bürgermeister’s homemade Glühwein is mulled with the finest warm winter spices, sweetened with brown sugar, topped off with apple cider, and then chilled to perfection and garnished with a dried blood orange wheel.

Moët & Chandon
Imperial Brut Champagne
Raise a toast with this delicious glass of champagne. Dry but still buttery, you’ll taste notes of green apple, pear, honey, and a slight resemblance of a freshly baked brioche upon every fizzy sip.

Imagery Chardonnay
Glen Ellen, CA

I think the beer part got cut off:

Beer Flight

Evil Santa Spiced Milk Stout
Virginia Beer Company – Williamsburg, VA
A local favorite, this classic creamy holiday milk stout is brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, plus a dash of everything naughty and a hint of nice.

Lights Out Holiday Ale
Blue Mountain Brewery – Afton, VA
This holiday ale boasts a medium-bodied texture featuring a deep malt flavor with hints of rolled cinnamon sugar oats and an earthy spiciness.

Frosted Sugar Cookie Ale
Southern Tier Brewing Company – Lakewood, NY
A delicious Imperial Ale full of fragrant vanilla cookie aromas with notes of freshly browned butter and sweet sugar.

Love seeing them staying with local beers for 2/3rd of that. Southern Tier while not in the area is quality and I have never had a bad beer from them

The holiday experience was fun. There were changes to the show that were Christmassy that certainly got a few laughs out of me. It wasn't a complete overhaul, but a smattering of new bits that we enjoyed. Something akin to 10% difference from the usual bones of the show?

I also appreciate the small décor adjustments they have made for the Autumn/Howl-O-Scream and Holiday experiences.

I hope there isn't too much turnover on the actors. I quite like the few that we've seen in action. I suppose new ones could be great though too.

Anecdotally my girlfriend and I may need to pump the brakes on booking this experience so often; my phone shows the actors as people's faces that it recognizes along with our families.

We went to Burgermeister's on Friday afternoon. I am SO thankful that I had no idea what it would be like! My husband was like "why are we spending $50 each for drinks in a hidden room?" And, my answer was, "I really don't know. But, it's gonna be awesome!"

He went in skeptically, and soon ended up with multiple interactions. We had a BLAST! Absolutely loved everything about it!

My one complaint (ok, maybe two) is that they let toddlers in. The child was well behaved, and when he got bored he enjoyed looking at the video screen, but I'd be deeply annoyed if a screaming overtired kid ruined my 'notsocheap' experience. My second complaint is that there was a group of three that talked through the entire experience. Husband heard the people near them asking them to be quiet and their response was - "It's a speakeasy - we're gonna talk"

Drinks were delicious. The first was basically the same cider we'd had the night before with a sprig of rosemary and some cranberries thrown in, but the next two were fabulous. Husband got the beer flight. (DO NOT CLICK BLURRED TEXT IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN) I think that might be why the performers interacted with and seated us where they did. We were going to sit at one of the high top tables but they "assigned" us to one on the other side of the room. We also did make it clear that we were long time attendees who were familiar with now defunct rides.

I found it interesting that when we checked in, our name was at the very top, above the "chart" with other names. That could certainly be due to my booking our rez months ahead as I knew I did not want to miss out on attending.

Thanks for the report @dawno! Glad you got to experience it! It truly is one of the greatest things BGW has added in a very, very, very long time—and easily one of the best experiences people can have at BGW right now in my honest opinion. It's a little slice of a legitimately Florida-quality theme park experience right here in Williamsburg. Truly adore it.
